What is Renewing Hope for Kids, Inc. (RH4K)?

Renewing Hope for Kids, Inc., RH4K, is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that was established by Kim and Jon Severson in 2019, with the intent to help children with special needs and their families in Southeastern Minnesota. Funds that are raised for this organization will be given back to children with special needs, and/or their immediate family in the form of grants/scholarships. Within the grant/scholarship application, parents/guardians will apply for assistance for their specific need/request. Potential areas could include, but are not limited to: specialized equipment, adaptive leagues, speech/learning devices, camps, sibling/family camps, therapy, etc.

Why we wanted to begin this adventure?

Our son has Autism (along with sensory processing disorder), Developmental Cognitive Delay, and Speech Apraxia. He is a wonderful and amazing little boy, but there can be challenging moments. We are also blessed with a little girl who is heaven sent and loves her brother, but struggles at times to understand what is happening. Being teachers and having a child with special needs, we recognize a need, and our hope with starting this organization is to raise money for kids and families for their specific need. As we live this life and meet other families, along with our careers, we have the ability to reach many individuals and/or families with special needs throughout the area.

We are forever grateful to those who feel the desire to support such a wonderful cause, and together we can make a difference in the lives of many children and their families.
