Faculty Profile
Prof. Tapan Kumar Parya (Adjunct Professor)
Professor Tapan Kumar Parya is the founder Director of the School of Energy and Environmental Sciences. Prof. T.K.Parya received his M.Tech, PhD (Tech) in Chemical Engineering and Chemical Technology from the University of Calcutta. Prof. Parya successfully served different chemical and allied industries, directorate of small-scale industries in a senior position for 9 years. He was then engaged as a faculty member in the Department of Chemical Technology, University of Calcutta since 1989 for 29 years. He is a well-known academician in the field of high-tech ceramics, nano-materials, suspension rheology, and polymers. He had guided 17 research scholars for their PhD degrees. A few research students are still working under his supervision. He had over 100 publications in well-acclaimed national and international journals. He is honored as a fellow in a number of scientific and technological societies. He is the editorial board member and reviewer in some reputed journals. He has long been contributing as an expert, advisor, and visiting faculty in various academic, research institutes, and government bodies.

Prof. Ananta Kumar Das
Prof. Das did his BTech & MTech in Chemical Engineering and PhD(Tech) from Calcutta University. He has vast industrial experience of more than 24 years in his career in different govt. & multinational companies in different Managerial positions. Since 2009, he has been in academics including one year in administration. Prof. Das has good exposure in the area of Manufacturing and Operation of process Plants. He is an expert in the field of Environmental Engineering and Management and is now involved in various activities of the university.
He has published four books, and many papers in different national and international journals. He has also presented many papers at national, and international conferences & seminar and delivered lectures, and attended a nos. of seminars and workshops in different Institutes and Organizations. He guided one research scholar for PhD degree from NIT Durgapur and presently guiding one research scholar under NIT Durgapur & two scholars under MAKAUT, WB. He is also a member of many professional bodies as a fellow, Life-member, member, and Consulting Engineer of MSME, Durgapur, and is recognized as a Chartered Engineer of IEI(India).

Sri Kunal Chowdhury (Assistant Professor)
Kunal Chowdhury has completed his BTech degree in Electrical Engineering from Netaji Subhash Engineering College affiliated with Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal, and his MTech degree in Energy Science and Technology from Jadavpur University. He also worked as a Research Fellow in an MNRE, GOI-funded project for high-efficiency solar cell fabrication. Currently, he is pursuing PhD from Jadavpur University in the field of Solar Energy and Advanced Solar Cell Materials. He joined the University as a Faculty member in the Department of Renewable Energy under the School of Energy and Environmental Sciences in 2019.

Dr. Subhajit Saha (Assistant Professor)
Dr. Subhajit Saha has received his M. Tech. and Ph.D. (Engineering) degree from School of Materials Science and Nanotechnology, Jadavpur University, India. He conducted his postdoctoral research at Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, Kolkata and National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan. Dr. Saha has also worked as a Senior UPE Fellow in Nanoscience and Technolgy program under UGC-UPE scheme. He is a Visiting Faculty of Department of Industrial Chemistry & Applied Chemistry, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira, Belur Math, Howrah. He has published many papers in international journal of repute.
