Renah Razzaq, Ph.D. Candidate

Renah Razzaq has been a Worcester Public School Teacher, where she teaches various level math and computer science courses, serving the students of Doherty Memorial High School since 2002. In 2018 she was awarded the NCTM Mathematics Education Trust grant which provided her the opportunity to attend the annual NCTM conference in Washington D.C. She was also the advisor of Highlanders Who Code, where any student could join and learn the basics of the programming language, Python. She has been the Mathematics and Computer Science Department Head since 2011. She is a part-time Ph.D. student in the Learning Science & Technology program at WPI where she is advised by Neil Heffernan.

Renah has been an adjunct instructor at WPI (2011-2016) and the College of the Holy Cross (2015) where she co-taught the Teaching Methods Course for preservice teachers in the STEM fields with John Staley (Assistant Principal, Doherty High School). She has also been a math department adjunct at her alma mater, Worcester State University, since 2010. In 2017 Renah represented Worcester State University and was one of nine educators in the state to be awarded the Massachusetts State Universities Educator Alumni Award. She was also awarded an additional citation from the Massachusetts State Senate.
