Welcome!

I am an Assistant Professor in Accounting, Economics and Finance area at T A Pai Management Institute (TAPMI), Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal, India. Prior to joining TAPMI, I worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher with the India Competence Centre (ICC-FIM), University of St.Gallen, Switzerland. I completed my PhD (DPM) in Economics area from the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK), India and was also a Commonwealth Scholar at the Department of Economics, University of Essex, UK.

My broad range of research interests include development finance, household finance, financial economics, and banking and financial services. My work has explored the dimensions of financial literacy, capability, and knowledge to understand the financial behavior of rural households in a developing country like India, which has recorded an extensive improvement in financial inclusion levels in recent decades. Most of my work uses hand-collected primary survey data from fieldwork (with support from partner institutions) as well as national-level household survey datasets in India.

My CV is here.

A short post on my Job Market Paper can be found on the World Bank's All about Finance blog.
