Virtual Guests
The virtual experience didn't work as planned, but family joined regardless.
Remy's sister Peg and her family joined Evelyn and Terri virtually, waving and sharing their love. It meant the world seeing these lovely people on screen.
They toasted Remy with a mug of Morgan David, and shared his favorite foods: ham, scalloped potatoes, angel food cake and of course SOFT CARMELS.
This is the slide show shown at the reception at the Church.
Business cards (or as Terri call's them "lots of bookmarks") were designed and provided to guests.
On the front is a picture is a Blue Heron painted by Remy. On the back is a Bible verse along with the link to this site.
Remy collected antique bird cards that had once been given out in everything from cigarettes to tea. These cards were something he enjoyed and it seemed very fitting that the card provided at the reception represent this collection, while also representing his other hobby of painting.
7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
Sports figures weren't the only cards that were traded. Trading cards were often included in everything from cigarettes to tea. The set pictured to the right were issued by The Brooke Bond Tea Co. in 1957 on the subject of Bird Portraits. Descriptive text is printed on the backs of the cards. Remy was partial to the song birds.
