During our first interview with the studio team, some questions were raised about ProTools 10 compatibility with OSX El Capitan and the ListenTo tool for streaming directly from the DAW. At the moment we are still looking for alternatives at affordable prices and without updating the operating system. The most viable option to solve this problem was using Loopback as an internal router, software to which we dedicated time to analyze in our article on tools for livestreams, and although it does not offer HQ audio quality, added to Skype, it gives us unlimited time of use with a decent quality and allows to work without problems.
There is an important fact to consider: a DAW can never be manipulated simultaneously by two computers. What you can do is control one computer through another. Via Zoom easily. If what you need is to have access to the project from anywhere and have it in the cloud so that someone else can access it no matter what computer they have, there are two ways: 1- If it is an Ableton, Logic, Fl Studio, GarageBand or Studio One project, you can use Splice. 2- If not, you can save the project in MEGA.nz (up to 50GB of free data) and download and upload it, rewriting it each time. It is tedious and manual, but in the process a backup is created in the cloud. Important if another person is going to open the project that has the same version of DAW and has plugin compatibility.
