IN SHORT
RemoteSelfie collects no personal data. There is no server, no account and no sign-up. Your photos stay on your iPhone.
YOUR PHOTOS
Photos taken with RemoteSelfie are saved only to the photo library of the iPhone acting as camera. They are never uploaded anywhere, we never see them, and they never leave your phone.
THE LINK BETWEEN THE TWO PHONES
The two iPhones communicate directly with each other over Bluetooth or the local Wi-Fi network, without going through the internet. The live view shown on the remote travels only between the two phones and is encrypted. It is never recorded or stored.
THE NAME YOU CHOOSE
The first time you open the app you are asked for a name. It is used only so the other phone can recognise you when connecting. It is stored on your iPhone and is never sent to us. You can skip it, in which case the phone is simply called "User".
CAMERA, PHOTOS AND LOCATION
RemoteSelfie asks for permission to use the camera in order to take pictures, and permission to add to your photo library in order to save them. It does not read the photos you already have. It also asks for your location, so that the place a photo was taken is stored inside the photo itself, exactly as the built-in camera does. The location is only read while this iPhone is acting as the camera, never while it is the remote and never in the background. It is written into the photo on your phone and goes nowhere else. Refusing costs you nothing: the photo is simply saved without a place.
SUBSCRIPTIONS
The Plus and Pro subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple. Payment goes through your Apple Account: we never see or store your payment details.
CHILDREN
The app is not directed at children, and it collects no data from anyone, whatever their age.
CHANGES
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same address.
