REMOTE INSTRUCTION
COLLEGE SERVICES
Montgomery College will continue to provide instruction, counseling and support services, but will do so remotely.
Counseling and Advising
Current and returning Montgomery College students who have a quick question about a specific issue or who are unable to find an open appointment in the Starfish system within 48 business hours from today or cannot visit the Counseling and Advising department can use this Counseling/Advising Request Form to connect with advisors.
Learning Centers
MC Learning Centers will offer remote instruction, including Virtual Tutoring.
ACADEMIC TESTING
Assessment and Testing Centers provide services to new and current Montgomery College students.
Academic Testing for ONLINE EXAM via SmarterProctoring
If your instructor has set up a link on Blackboard for scheduling your online exam, you can follow that link to access your MyExams portal on SmarterProctoring. On the MyExams portal, you will need to schedule the time and location for you to take your exam, and to start your exam session on the day of your appointment.
SCHEDULE YOUR APPOINTMENT for ONLINE (Computer-based) EXAM
To schedule an appointment, visit your MyExams portal on SmarterProctoring by clicking on the exam scheduling link that your instructor set up on Blackboard.
STEP 1: On MyExams page, click on the green Choose a Proctor button which will take you to the proctor selection page.
STEP 2: Select Session Type (Choose one Option)
Select either ProctorU (Live Online Proctoring) or an MC Assessment Center (when available) and follow the prompts to finalize your appointment location, day, and time.

MC ASSESSMENT CENTER

ProctorU is an online test proctoring service that provides test takers the convenience of testing from home, without compromising security. Scheduling your exam with ProctorU provides you with the following benefits:
On-demand appointments available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day
Technical support available to faculty and test-takers
Technical Requirements
Google Chromebooks are not currently supported
A functioning webcam and microphone
Google Chrome Browser
When testing with ProctorU, you will be recorded using both screen capture and your webcam, during the whole time of connection with the service. It will be the student’s responsibility to end the recording by closing the browser tab and clicking on the red X of the chat box. If the student does not close out the recording, they will continue to be monitored by the screen and webcam recordings.

This exam will cost $0.00 USD (Free)
RESCHEDULE/CANCEL APPOINTMENTS
If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, select the appropriate link at the bottom of your MyExams page on SmarterProctoring and follow the prompts until you have final confirmation of your changes.
TAKING YOUR ONLINE EXAM (On the Day of your Appointment)
If you are scheduled to take your exam at an MC Assessment Center, the Assessment center will take care of you after you arrive at the center.
For Live Online Proctoring option:
Make sure that you are at a location with a stable Internet connection
Make sure that you have an unexpired ID (MC or Driver's license)
About 10-15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time, click on the exam scheduling link on Blackboard to access your MyExams page on SmarterProctoring
On MyExams page, click on Start Session button to connect with your virtual exam proctor who will guide you through the steps to take the exam
When verification and setup is done in the presence of your proctor, click on the link to your ONLINE EXAM or access the Exam link provided to you by your instructor
NOTE: If your exam requires a password, your proctor will enter it for you.
