It’s curious to note how some of the most well-known luxury brands out there are trying to find ways to keep afloat, especially since luxury fashion does not seem to be a priority these days, shares Remi Landau.
For one, some top fashion brands have created their own line of face masks. In order to maintain the quality that they themselves have put in place, these masks are made with their own traditional fabrics together with safety-approved fibers. The objective now is to create something cheerful that people can wear so that they are safe. Making uplifting products in a positive environment is at the top of every fashion designer’s priority list at the moment.
Working long-distance has also forced designers to reorient themselves in terms of production. Selection of materials is normally done in person, where utmost scrutiny can be exercised in actual material inspection. This has long been the practice of sourcing out the materials that make up the best brands out there. Today, the most significant criterion in making selections boils down to getting fabrics that designers are already familiar with from suppliers they have had success with in the past.
