What is MAP movement:
MAP (Myofascial Activated Posture) is a movement therapy that focuses on the fascial suit of the body, how to get you moving again in all directional planes and in ways you didn't think you could move anymore.
We educate you on how to release the Myofascial suit and how to regain the POWER back into your body that your busy lifestyle and chronic pain took away. Different aspects like sitting for long hours, texting, chronic pain, stress, injuries, surgeries, emotional trauma and anxiety effects your posture which leads to constant pain or discomfort.
Our aim is to readjust your posture by taking the "CHAIR" out of your body, as sitting has become the new smoking... and we need to change it to movement.

In MAP, we have redefined the CORE of the body to the Fascial CORE and by taking the approach in a holistic manner instead of in isolation because us as humans don't function in isolation.
To introduce this change, we use 5 MAP Movement Principles for the purpose of both evaluation & rehabilitation. These principles form the foundation of our sessions which you will be introduced to in your individual session.
By releasing the fascial suit we are creating the space for a healthy change, but without strengthening within that space, the change will be ineffective and therefore we say:
CREATE SPACE AND THEN MOVE INTO THAT SPACE.
So, what is MAP you may ask?
MAP fills the gap between how movement is and how movement should be.
What is Fascia:
It is a thin casing of connective tissue that surrounds and holds every organ, blood vessel, bone, nerve fibre and muscle in place. It's basically the glue that holds the body together and the reason why we have redefined the CORE of the body, to the Fascial suit.
In MAP we use techniques to mobilise the skin, so that we can remould your fascial 'wet-suit' back into its original design & size, therefore allowing you to move freely without limitation and pain.
Fascia is slow to change, so patience is key. It can take anything from 6 - 24 months depending on each individuals body. Therefore, there is a great benefit in attending sessions @ least once a week.
