MODULE 1: Wild reindeer maps
Here you can view maps illustrating how reindeer view the landscapes in terms of suitable resources, functional areas, corridors, barriers & human footprint
The App below shows several types of maps illustrating how reindeer perceive suitable resources, functional areas, corridors, barriers & human impacts. How to interpret each maps is described here. Maps can be grouped into two groups: Pixel-focussed maps and Ladscape-focussed maps. The former take a "frog perspective" - describing the characteristics of each 100 x 100 m pixel. The latter allows taking a "bird-eye view", and describes the functionality and connectivity of the entire landscape network. All can be useful for managment & sustainable land planning. However, network-based maps are needed to understand priorities for conservation or restoration in the landscape.
