DigiTech Deep Dive: A conference for Primary School educators that I developed and lead a dynamic team to deliver using a Google Educator grant

As a leader and as a teacher, I have acted as a change agent in a number of schools moving to transform pedagogy and practice with diverse foci, including implementation of school designed transdisciplinary model, conceptual inquiry, Reggio Emilia philosophy, project-based learning and embedding practices such as Design Thinking, Visible Thinking and differentiation including student direction and personalisation. These changes have been built on my ability to initiate change, inspire others to question the status quo, act and take risks, and celebrate the successes and the failures of innovative teaching and learning.
I have spent years visiting and studying some of the world’s most innovative schools and developed networks with innovative educators and researchers across the world to share ideas with and develop projects. I have had experience implementing and scaling innovative changes to pedagogy, practices and culture across a K-12 school. I have collaborated to develop exceptional learning experiences for staff and students, including individualised pathways and opportunities for learning beyond the school. I have worked in a number of girls school in Sydney and developed programs to break stereotypes and develop their skills, understanding and confidence in STEM through real world problems. Most of my teaching experience has been in flexible learning spaces and I have experience in designing, realising and adapting these. I have been the writer behind a number of successful grants which have translated into experiences for student and teacher learning. I am currently engaged in formal research in innovative pedagogies and how practice informs theory.
I passionate about building relationships and experiences that develop curiosity, agency, conceptual understanding, and future skills and dispositions. I find joy in being part of the learning journey of colleagues and students as they develop confidence and competence in innovative practice.
