We are delighted to announce that the fund has decided to commission a children's book that embodies the spirit that we loved so much in Elisa. It is a story of cultural understanding through fictional animal characters, such as Giselle the Giraffe, who hosts all of the animal kingdom for a dinner party after tensions rise between pacts. The purpose of this book is to teach understanding, mutual respect, and civil discourse from an early age. Join us in bringing Elisa's love for education and togetherness into the classroom for the next generation to learn from.
Another way you could contribute to our healing, is by mailing us rocks! An unusual request—we’re aware. In Jewish tradition, we leave rocks on graves instead of flowers, because rocks never die. Our family has been painting all the ones we collect on our hikes and decorating Elisa’s gravesite. You’re welcome to paint them yourself, or send us plain ones to paint for you! We will be putting half at her resting place, and half will be for our own at home rock garden in her memory.
