Class Descriptions

2-4 Year Olds

Tiny Motion (2): A parent-child class for our youngest dancers that includes circle time, center exercises, across the floor exercises, and a Fall Open House. This class will explore body parts and dance language with an emphasis on creativity and imagination. The total cost for this class is $400 for the term plus a registration fee of $30.00.

Kid Motion (3-4): for students 3-4 explores the exciting world of creative movement and music! The 45 minutes includes circle time, high energy warm-up, full body cool down stretches, across the floor dance exercises, center floor dance activities and practice with musical instruments, flow-scarfs, and a giant parachute!

All students participate in our seasonal celebration. The total cost for this class is $400 for the term, plus a registration fee of $30.00.

Ballet Motion (3-4): for students 3-4 introduces the enchanting world of ballet! The 45 minutes includes circle time, high energy warm-up, balletic stretches on the floor, across the floor exercises, center floor dance activities founded in the traditional ballet technique and practice with alignment practice with flow-scarfs, and and beanie bags!

All students participate in our seasonal celebration. The total cost for this class is $400 for the term, plus a registration fee of $30.00.

5-7 Year Olds

Jr. Ballet: for students 5-7 teaches the technical skill, genre vocabulary and cultural history of classical ballet. This class introduces ballet with an emphasis on alignment, placement, technicality, musicality, rhythm, sequencing, spatial awareness, and the flow of movement. The hour includes a traditional ballet floor barre warm-up, port de bras, across the floor technique and exercises, center floor technique and choreography rehearsal, a mini showcase where the students split into groups to perform for each other; sharpening their performance and audience skills. This class has bench mark assessments to encourage the students growth on their knowledge and skill.

The total cost for this class is $425 for the term plus a $30 registration fee. All students will participate in the Seasonal Celebration and Concert.

Jr. Hip Hop: for students 5-7 teaches the technical skill, genre vocabulary and cultural history of the fundamentals of hip hop. This class introduces hip hop with an emphasis on musicality, rhythm, sequencing, spatial awareness, and the flow of movement. The hour includes a traditional high energy hip hop warm-up, hip hop technique and exercises, across the floor combinations, center floor choreography rehearsal and closes with a mini showcase, where the students split into groups to perform for each other; sharpening their performance and audience skills.

6-8 Year Olds

Jr. Tap: for students 6-8 teaches the technical skill, genre vocabulary and cultural history of the fundamentals of tap. This class introduces tap with an emphasis on musicality, rhythm, sequencing, spatial awareness, and the flow of movement. The hour includes a traditional high energy dance warm-up (with jazz shoes), tap technique, across the floor exercises, center floor choreography rehearsal and closes with a mini showcase, where the students split into groups to perform for each other; sharpening their performance and audience skills.

The total cost for this class is $425 for the term plus a $30 registration fee. All students will participate in the Seasonal Celebration and Concert.

8+ Year Olds

Ballet Fundamentals: for students 8+ teaches the technical skill, genre vocabulary and cultural history of classical ballet. The hour includes a traditional ballet floor barre warm-up, port de bras, barre technique and exercises, across the floor technique and exercises, center floor technique and exercises and closes with a révérence. This class has bench mark assessments to encourage the students growth on their knowledge and skill.

Students enrolled and registered in this class can also take Ballet Composition for Fall 2024.

The total cost is $600 for the session with monthly payments of $120 automatically charged on the 1st of each month in addition to a $30 registration fee. All students will participate in the Seasonal Celebration and Concert.

Ballet Composition: for students 8+ explores the artistry of ballet by learning, rehearsing and mastering different balletic choreography. This class will engage in classical ballet choreography as well as different fusions such as lyrical, jazz, African, modern, contemporary and more. Students in this class will also be introduces to composing their own pieces with exercises in improve and creating choreography. The hour includes a traditional ballet warm-up, port de bras, across the floor, center floor choreography rehearsal and closes with a révérence.

Students must be enrolled and registered in Ballet Fundaments for Fall 2024 in order to take this class.

Hip Hop: for students 8+ teaches the technical skill, genre vocabulary and cultural history of the fundamentals of hip hop. The hour includes a traditional high energy hip hop warm-up, hip hop technique and exercises, across the floor combinations, center floor choreography rehearsal and closes with a mini showcase, where the students split into groups to perform for each other; sharpening their performance and audience skills.

Musical Theater: A combination of acting, dancing, and singing for students 8-11 years old. Students will learn Broadway musicals and the distinct dance style of the genre.

Choir: for students 8+ to explore and improve their vocal skills and performance ability as a choir ensemble.

Acting: for students 8+ to explore and improve their acting skills and performance ability as a acting ensemble.

Adult Classes

Adult classes are available as enrollment series or drop-in classes and are 90 minutes long. Class genres include Hip Hop Fusion, Heels Performance, Jazz Fusion, Floor Barre and Ballet.
