Region 6 CLIC Lesson Study

Welcome and thank you for taking part in the Region 6 History / Social Studies Lesson Study. To help organize your efforts and the lessons that you will be working on we have assembled some materials and resources for your use throughout this process and beyond. Above you will find a hyperlinked table of contents which will take you to three different documents that you can use for your planning and reflection on the lesson that you will be working on during this lesson study. Feel free to use these or if you have other lesson plan organizers or resources that you would like to use instead for your planning.

Important Dates

Lesson Study Orientation:

2/1 OR 2/4, 3:30 – 4:00 PM

You will learn about the process and requirements as well as the supports that have been put in place to help. At this stage you will also meet and get to know your grade level team that you will be working with over the next few weeks.

Lesson Study Planning:

2/8 OR 2/11, 3:30 – 4:30 PM

Focused on planning within your grade level group. The goal is that you will all come away with a lesson plan to use with your students as well as an idea of implementation and assessment.

Lesson Study Share Out:

3/15 OR 3/18, 3:30 – 4:30 PM

Reflection of your lesson and the sharing out with your grade level group the challenges and successes that you encountered. This will be the stage, where as a group, you will troubleshoot and brainstorm ideas for overcoming the challenges and taking those successes to the next level.

Paperwork for Participants

Sign the part-time professional (PTP) contract. Make sure to bring a government-issued ID (driver’s license) and social security card.
Provide the expiration date of your California teaching credential.

Documents must be signed and dated by Friday, February 12.
- Teresa Ventura will send out a Doodle Poll with appointment reservation times.
- Select 2 - 3 appointment times that work best.
- Appointments last about 10 minutes. Please have necessary documents ready.
Fill the timesheet with dates no earlier than the date the PTP was signed in person.
Stanislaus County Office of Education HR office will obtain a mandated reporter certificate.
Complete the timesheet and return them upon completion of the lesson study.
