Our journey starts in our year around climate-controlled indoor food production facilities. By utilizing advanced environmental controls, we are able to produce over 200 lbs of gourmet mushrooms per week, ensuring that our customers in Ottawa, Gatineau and area have access to "peak-fresh" produce year-round.
We believe that high-quality food shouldn't have to travel thousands of miles. By focusing on local substrates and efficient indoor cultivation, we are starting the farm by providing a professional-grade product, from meaty Shiitakes to the medicinal Lion's Mane, directly to your table within 48 hours of harvest.
The mushroom facility is just the first "flush" of our long-term plan for the property. As we look toward the future, we are actively developing:
Community Integration: Partnering with local chefs and markets to strengthen the Pontiac’s reputation as a hub for gourmet, sustainable food.
Organic Baskets: Community-Supported Agriculture (CSA) program to offer a diverse range of farm-fresh products to local families.
Agroforestry & Shiitake-on-Logs: Integrating mushroom cultivation into our natural forest canopy to promote healthy woodland growth.
The Architecture of a Legendary Wilderness: We are architects of a new wilderness legacy, transforming hundreds of acres of old-growth forest into a world-class sanctuary where the thrum of international competition meets the silence of the Pontiac. Our vision breathes life into a unique geological masterpiece—defined by rolling hills and ten-meter-deep deposits of pure golden sand—to resurrect the storied "Bristol Dryland" trails that hosted the World Dog Racing Championships. By weaving together a network of well over 10 km of dedicated sandy paths and a secluded private lake with high-performance, healthy infrastructure inspired by E3Habitat and GPEKS, we are creating a boutique destination for farm stays and future agricultural innovators. This is more than a development; it is the progressive unfolding of a master plan where elite nature-based recreation, solar-integrated architecture, and the thundering spirit of a global icon converge into a single, regenerative estate.
Our vision for Regen Bristol is one of progressive expansion. We aren't just building a farm; we are creating a campus for the future of agriculture and showcase for sustainable, healthy and economical constructions. As we grow, we will be adding new extensions and buildings to the site to accommodate the expansion and accommodation needs our resident farmers.
We believe that the buildings where we live and work should be as natural as the land around them. Our construction philosophy follows two primary pillars:
Natural & Healthy Materials: Following the principles of E3 Habitat, we prioritize materials that are non-toxic, safe, durable, breathable, and both economically and ecologically sound. We focus on the type of housing that respects both the inhabitant and the environment.
High-Performance Sustainability: Utilizing the technical expertise of GPEKS Constructions Inc., we employ advanced sustainable building techniques. This includes high-performance envelopes, mold proof assemblies, carbon-sequestering materials, such as lime stabilized Compressed Earth Bricks (CEB), and Chloride free Magnesium Oxide (MgO) walls for high humidity agricultural buildings.
Our goal is to create a model of rural development where high-tech efficiency meets low-impact, natural building.
Our vision for the 215-acre Bristol property extends far beyond the harvest. We are building a diversified, self-sustaining ecosystem where technology, animals, and nature work in harmony. Our future phases include:
We are committed to energy independence and closed-loop systems. Our plans include:
Passive Solar Greenhouses: Utilizing the sun’s path for year-round vegetable and fruit production.
On-site Electricity: Commercial-scale solar photovoltaic (building integrated) and Agrivoltaic systems that share the land with our grazing livestock.
Innovative Heating: Implementing compost heat (Jean Pain hydronic system) recovery systems, bio-gas production to warm our facilities using the natural decomposition of farm organic matter, kitchen and agricultural waste.
A healthy landscape requires animals. We are introducing a diverse range of species to manage the land and provide premium local proteins:
Livestock: Sheep, goats, and equine companions, alongside smaller heritage stock like rabbits, quails, pigeons, and boars.
Poultry & Apiary: Fresh eggs from our geese and ducks, and raw honey production from our on-site hives.
Aquatics: Sustainable from our Aquaponics passive solar greenhouse systems and fresh-caught fish from our natural lakes and ponds.
Soil Health: Large-scale Vermiculture (worm composting) to build the nutrient-dense soil required for our garlic, berries, fruit trees, and heirloom vegetables.
We invite the community to experience the beauty of the Pontiac firsthand. We are developing infrastructure for:
Accommodations: From rugged camping to luxury lake-view cabins and immersive farm stays.
Gatherings: A premier destination for weddings, corporate retreats, and organic farm-to-table meals prepared with ingredients locally grown, steps from the table.
The property’s unique geography offers an unparalleled playground for outdoor enthusiasts:
Summer: Mountain bike rentals and groomed trails for hiking and exploration.
Winter: Professional-grade trails for dog racing, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing.
Experience: Unique donkey and mule rides for all ages, and managed seasonal hunting packages.
The 87 hectares (215 acres) of Regen Bristol are defined by a rare and stunning geography. At the heart of our property lies a massive deposit—up to 10 meters deep—of gorgeous, pure, fine yellow sand. This natural feature provides a pristine base for our dedicated camping areas and ensures exceptional drainage and beauty throughout the site.
The Terrain
The Landes Connection: Our primary camping area is nestled within a majestic pine forest, creating an atmosphere remarkably similar to the famous Landes region in Southwest France. The combination of towering pines and soft, sandy ground offers a serene, "boutique" outdoor experience.
Exploration & Trails: A network of trails crisscrosses and loops through the property, designed for everything from meditative walks to high-energy mountain biking, pony rides and dog racing.
Secluded Waters: The trails lead you through hills and valleys of diversified old-growth forest, eventually opening up to a large private, secluded lake—a hidden sanctuary perfect for quiet retreats or cabin stays.

The Vision in Action: A Masterclass in Regenerative Development
At Regen Bristol, we are more than just stewards of a large estate; we are practitioners of a global shift toward "Regenerative Development." In this featured episode of The Regenerative Design Podcast, our founder, Frederic Pouyot, explores the philosophy that drives our work in the Pontiac—moving beyond simple sustainability to actively reverse environmental damage. The video delves into the technical and business strategies behind using high-performance materials like those found in our Bristol project, the integration of agrivoltaics, and the resurrection of storied landscapes. By watching, you’ll gain insight into how the healthy, non-toxic infrastructure and solar-integrated designs at Regen Bristol serve as a blueprint for a future where business, agriculture, and nature thrive in a circular, restorative harmony.
