40th Anniversary of the Liberation of the Falkland Islands

The Falklands War, though forgotten by many, is still remembered by the citizens of the Falkland islands who plan to hold a celebration. The celebration would be across the islands and be in honor of the liberation of the islands by British military forces in 1982. According to the Chair of the 40th Anniversary Committee, many Falkland Islanders are excited for these events, even the young people of the islands. Additionally, there have been hints to the tying in some of the events with Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee--which also happens to be occurring this year.
