Choose a country that has a high number of refugees leaving.
Write a news brief and create multimedia product to go with it.The presentation should answer the inquiry questions focused on the country chosen:
To what extent can a country prevent its people from becoming refugees?
To what extent should countries be obligated to assist and provide support to refugees?
To what extent can the personal narratives of refugees enhance understanding of their experiences and challenges?
Be sure that credible sources are being used for information to add to your news brief.
The news brief should be 150-250 words and include the following aspects:
Bringing Awareness:
Describe the current refugee situation for the chosen country.
Capture both the struggles and the resilience of refugees.
Engaging with Audience:
Explain your proposed solution.
Advocating and Getting Involved:
Encourage and persuade the audience to take specific actions.
In addition to your written news brief, you are required to choose one of the following multimedia options to complement your brief. Your multimedia product should clearly reflect your stance on how to address the refugee issue, as presented in your news brief:
Create a news video (1-2 minutes) with interviews, stories, and evidence, presenting your solution and a call to action.
Develop a series of photos with captions that tell a story and highlight your proposed solution.
Design an infographic presenting key statistics, facts, and your proposed solution in a visually engaging way.
Record a 1-2 minute podcast snippet discussing the refugee issue and your solution, with evidence and compelling arguments.
Construct a social media campaign, several posts, designed to raise awareness and advocate for your proposed solution, encouraging community engagement. (These may be posted on the school social media page but not your own personal page.)
Remember to review your GRASPS to remain focused on the task.
