#ReframeCovid is an ongoing Twitter conversation among linguists and citizens from all over the world.
Inés Olza sends first tweet on war rhetoric on Covid-19 and proposes a brief 'menu' of alternative spatial metaphors, following the example of 'metaphor menu' for cancer patients by Elena Semino and the team at CASS, Lancaster.
A good number of (cognitive) linguists react to first tweets and feed the 'menu' with other metaphors: Iraide Ibarretxe, Laura Filardo, Elena Sánchez, Ricardo-María Jiménez-Yáñez, Ana Pano, Beatriz Gallardo Paúls, Brigitte Nerlich, Barbara De Cock, Marianna Bolognesi, Lorena Pérez, Reyes Llopis-García, among others.
Beatriz Gallardo Paúls proposes to use a hashtag. Paula Pérez-Sobrino launches the hashtag #ReframeCovid.
Veronika Koller sets up an open-source document to collect #ReframeCovid metaphors (alternative, non-war-related ones) from various languages. Currently the document is managed by Pernille Bogø.
