The total amount allocated to each school includes those funds kept by schools with Foundations (after the required contribution to the PPS Parent Fund) and the funds distributed to schools that qualified for and received a grant from the PPS Parent Fund.

These charts present the total and average dollars that school communities have raised via foundations over a ten-year period. In ten years, over half of PPS schools were not able to raise enough money to hire a single teacher, while several schools raised millions of dollars.

This chart shows the average grant awards by the PPS Parent Fund each year for the school years 2015-16 through the most recent awards announced for 2022-23. Each chart displays the number of additional staff that schools were able to hire using foundation funds in a five-year period. Staff paid for using grants distributed by All Hands Raised or the PPS Parent Fund are also included here. In addition, the charts below display how the amount of staff paid for in each school correlates with the percentages of various student populations attending school there.

This chart focuses on the funds raised in one academic year. In addition to showing the total amount raised in a school community, you can also see the amount that stayed with each school after the required contribution to the PPS Parent Fund. The ten school foundations that raised the most money each year kept at least double the amount of the average grant awarded each year and for some as much as nine times the amount of the average grant.

Per-student allocations show the average per-student amount that each school keeps after the required contribution to the PPS Parent Fund, and includes grants from the PPS Parent Fund. This information helps illustrate differences in fundraising levels and grant distribution when considering that schools have vastly different enrollments.
