New Referees

Welcome!

The next USSF grassroots training hosted by United will be on August 8, 2023 from 5-8pm at Nugget Fields (1801 Moore Blvd). Remember there is online pre-work that MUST be completed prior to the training. DO NOT wait until the last minute to register. If the training date has passed and you would like to be notified when the next training at Nugget Fields is taking place please fill out this form. Remember you can take any USSF grassroots ref training and then cross-certify and get set-up with us after if the dates at Nugget Fields do not work in your schedule.

I would like to be able to referee Davis AYSO games and AYSO United Davis (and other NorCal Premier) games

STEP 1: Register to be a volunteer referee for Davis AYSO here.

STEP 2: Complete the twenty-minute AYSO Safe Haven online training session.

STEP 3: You will then need to register and pay for the USSF referee training course. Find and select your course; look for a Davis one at Nugget Field for maximum ease. Once registered, complete the online pre-work courses (6-7 hours) and then in-person training (3 hours). The pre-work must be completed BEFORE the in-person class.

STEP 4: Within 3 days of the grassroots course fill out the Cross Certification form and then submit with other documentation to Cross Certify USSF to AYSO

STEP 5: Complete set-up with the AYSO United Davis systems (Game Officials, Team Snap). You will be invited to Team Snap. You can set up your own Game Officials account.

STEP 6: AYSO United Davis will submit the cross certification form on your behalf. After it is complete a representative from Davis AYSO will reach out to you for gear pick up and how to self-assign games

I would like to be able to referee AYSO United Davis (and other NorCal Premier) games (but not Davis AYSO games)

STEP 2: When you have completed the above step, you will need to purchase your referee gear. AYSO United Davis games will be available to referee in the Spring and Fall of each year

STEP 3: Follow the steps here to get set up for game assignment

NOTE: If the cost of the USSF course is a barrier, please let us know. After refereeing 2-3 NorCal Premier games you will have recouped your cost of the USSF class.

Our recommendation is to become a USSF Grassroots and then cross certify to AYSO Regional. You then have access to get assigned to AYSO United Davis games with start-up equipment and mentorship from Davis AYSO. It will take about 30 extra minutes of your time to do so.
