The purpose of this group project was to showcase and practice using our digital literacy skills to research global technology issues and collaborate with a partner using online tools.
My partner and I chose two different countries that were economically different and had different variations in their language, culture, and technology usage. I chose Phuket, Thailand and my partner chose her home country Honduras.
Overall, after completing this project I learned a lot about how it is a privilege to have internet access and advanced technology. I also practiced my digital literacy and collaboration skills. It was interesting to find that Honduras isn't a technology driven country and that most citizens cannot afford internet access unlike Thailand where they are one of the most digitally advanced countries in the world. After independently researching our countries, we compared and contrasted the use and availability of technology using Word and Email. Following that we then made a Powerpoint document that we both could edit and share.
