# Privacy Policy for Reelax

Reelax ("Reelax", "we", "us", or "our") is a digital wellbeing app that helps you
track and limit how many short-form videos ("reels" / "Shorts") you scroll each day.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the app accesses, what we collect, how
we use it, and the choices you have.
By using Reelax, you agree to this policy.

## 1. The Accessibility Service — what it does and does NOT do
Reelax uses Android's **Accessibility Service** for one purpose only: to detect scroll
gestures so it can count the reels you swipe past.
**What it does:**
- Detects scroll/swipe gestures **only** inside Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.
- Counts each video you scroll past so you can see your daily total.
- Detects which of those three apps is in the foreground so the counter and break
screen appear only there.
**What it does NOT do:**
- It does **not** read, collect, store, or transmit any text, messages, captions,
comments, passwords, photos, videos, or audio.
- It does **not** access your contacts, files, or any personal content.
- It does **not** record your screen.
- It does **not** operate in any app other than Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.
All scroll counting happens **on your device**.

## 2. Information we collect
### a) Account information (only if you sign in with Google)
When you choose to sign in with Google, we receive, via Firebase Authentication:
- Your name (as set on your Google account)
- Your email address
- A unique Google account identifier
This is used to identify you and sync your stats across devices.
### b) App activity data
The following is stored in your account when you are signed in (and only on your
device if you use Guest mode):
- Daily and lifetime reel counts, daily streak, and daily limit
- Achievements/badges, coins, and items purchased with in-app coins
- Selected theme and title, and premium subscription status
### c) Social features (visible to other users)
- **Leaderboard:** your display name, lifetime reel count, equipped title, and earned
badges are visible to other signed-in users.
- **Friends:** you have an 8-character friend code; people you add as friends can see
your display name, stats, and badges.
If you do not want to appear publicly, use **Guest mode** (see below) or do not add
friends / view the leaderboard.
### d) Guest mode
If you use Reelax as a Guest, your data stays **only on your device** and is not
uploaded to our servers. You will not appear on the leaderboard or in friends lists.
### e) Advertising (free version only)
We use **Google AdMob** to display banner ads to users who do not have a premium
subscription. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as an advertising ID) and
ad-interaction data in accordance with Google's policies.
### f) Analytics
We use **Firebase Analytics** to understand general, aggregated app usage (for example,
which features are used and crash reports) so we can improve Reelax.
### g) On-device data
Your counts and settings are stored locally on your device using Android DataStore.
Your premium status is stored locally in encrypted form.

## 3. How we use your information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide the core features (counting, daily limits, focus breaks)
- Sync your progress across your devices
- Power the leaderboard and friends features
- Display ads in the free version
- Diagnose problems and improve the app
We do **not** sell your personal information.

## 4. How your information is shared
Your information is processed by the following third parties:
- **Google Firebase** (Authentication, Firestore database, Analytics) — stores your
account and synced data. See Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- **Google AdMob** — serves ads in the free version.
Other signed-in users can see the public leaderboard and friend information described
in Section 2(c). We do not share your data with any other third parties.

## 5. Data retention and deletion
- Your synced data is retained while your account exists.
- **Sign out** at any time from Settings; your local data remains on your device.
- **Uninstalling** the app removes all local data from your device.
- To **delete your cloud data and account**, email us at the address in Section 10 and
we will delete your stored data within 30 days.

## 6. Children's privacy
Reelax is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your
country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you
believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

## 7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data. Cloud data is protected by
Firebase security rules so that your private data is accessible only to you. Your
premium status is stored encrypted on your device. No method of transmission or
storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

## 8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to
access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing. To
exercise these rights, contact us using the details in Section 10.

## 9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version
here and revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes
means you accept the updated policy.
