Brad started playing guitar when he was 12. His mom bought him a wood box acoustic from Gemco. They later used it for firewood as it was so unplayable! Brad's roots in the Bay Area are long and deep. Brad has performances and openings for some of the local greats like Yesterday and Today (Y&T), Robin Trower, Paul Gilbert, Eric Martin, and Billy Shehan with Mr Big, Blue Oyster Cult, The Tom Landry Band (KSJO), and Pearl Heart and the Cosmic Blues Band. (Janis Joplin's band with Sam Andrews and Snooky Flowers) Also did studio work and recording with David Sikes, bass player from the band Boston. In Hawaii, Brad took home 2 awards from the 98 Rock radio station riff contests. Neal Schon and Carlos Santana both awarded Brad 1st Place along with 2 brand new guitars. An Ibanez and an Arbor destroyer.
Brad and Debra met back in the 90s in Walnut Creek. They have been playing music together ever since. Started recording original music together then played in a cover band, then on a worship team, then as a duet, then a tribute band, and now, Redwood Groove. Yes, they fell in love and were married and have 3 beautiful adult boys carrying on their musical gifts and talents. The two also performed and recorded for America’s Got Talent (season 5) with their family band of kids.
"Music is so powerful. Songs can stick in your head all day because it’s the last one you hear. Music can change the mood of the movie you’re watching. People have favorite songs for a reason and we love to find out those reasons when we play those songs. It’s really what connects us to our audience. Our gigs go way beyond having fun, singing, dancing, etc. We love to connect and move audiences through their experiences and memories that are connected to the songs we perform. That’s the groove we want to leave. People forget our name, they forget our band, they may even forget our songs, but they’ll never forget how we made them feel. It’s what matters most to us."
