COUNSELING AND GUIDANCE SERVICES
Each student, upon entering Redwood High School is assigned to a school counselor who stays with him/her for the duration at Redwood. The counselor assists with academic, social, career and personal adjustment needs by developing a four-year educational plan, and working with the student to make post-secondary educational and career plans. The Counseling Department also offers grade specific informational programs for parents and students during the year.

Redwood’s College and Career Center (Room 111) has a wealth of materials to assist students with their college search and career planning. It houses a library of college brochures, as well as information for military options, study abroad programs, scholarships, and summer activities. In addition, the Career Specialist arranges for college representatives, career speakers, essay workshops and diagnostic practice tests to help students better prepare for the SAT and ACT tests. The center maintains listings of available part time jobs, community service options and also provides work permits.

Internships are available through the school-to-career program for students! The liaison maintains an extensive database of public and private organizations that accept high school students for internships throughout the school year and summer.
WELLNESS CENTER
The Redwood Wellness Center works with the Counseling Department to provide support services for students. They coordinate and provide health, mental health, reproductive health and substance abuse services and programs for Redwood students on campus. The Wellness Center offers both direct services as well as prevention and education for students including health and wellness classroom presentations and school wide health education events.
PEER RESOURCE
Peer Resource is an elective class where students receive training to support other students through peer education, conflict-mediation, parent education panels and peer counseling when requested. These teen counselors are available to meet with fellow students
SMART PERIOD
SMART is a mandatory time for students to utilize resources they identify for academic improvement. Resource options include: help from a teacher, seeing a counselor, working individually or in groups.

Peer tutoring is free and available!
LINK CREW
Link Crew focuses on teaching upperclassmen to support freshman and new students’ success with the intent of “students helping students find academic and social success.” The course is intended as a student support program in terms of students both giving and receiving academic and social support to help freshman and transfer students make a smooth transition to high school or to a new high school.
