In Ontario, the expectations for FSL are organized into four distinct but interrelated strands:
A. Listening
B. Speaking
C. Reading
D. Writing
In order to become fully fluent in a language, one must gain a certain level of understanding of the language in each of these strands. Certain strands may come easier to some learners than others, but the main goal is that learning in one strand can support learning in the others.
In this resource, I use these strands to organize the resources I have compiled for simplicity sake. Each resource is listed under one (or two) specific categories, however many provide opportunities for learners to develop skills in all of the four categories.
