ABOUT ME

Hello everyone!

My name is Dana and I am a Master of Education student with the Department of Curriculum, Teaching and Learning in the Languages and Literacies program. My interest in French Language Learning has led to my completion of a Specialization in Education, Francophonie and Diversity. I have taught Grade 7 French Immersion for five years, but I am moving to secondary in September where I will teach Grade 9 and 10 French Immersion and Grade 12 Core French.

As a French Immersion teacher I have seen the impact this program can have on students mental health and well-being in the form of stress, anxiety and overall lack of confidence. Because of this I have set out to design my courses and lessons in ways that offer my students the tools they need to build their confidence in the French language while still challenging them in their language learning journey. This resource is a glimpse into some of the resources I use to do this.
