Volunteering at Red Rocks is an excellent opportunity to raise funds for your home band program. After covering all expenses of the championships, a portion of the revenues are distributed back to each participating program based on the number of volunteer hours contributed by parents and fans. When you create your volunteer account, just make sure to note the school that you would like your hours credited to.
If you happen to sign up for a shift that overlaps your band's performance time, we will make sure you are able to step away from your assignment so you can watch your band. A Volunteer Viewing area will be accessible by going to the elevator by the ticket booth in the west stands. This viewing area is available to volunteers only and you must be wearing your badge.

Assigned Volunteer Positions
The Red Rocks competition is organized by a Committee that includes individuals from a variety of experiences and band programs. Specifically, the Committee currently includes members who have historically participated in Ridgeline, Westlake, Davis, and American Fork. That said, most members of the committee have not had family members in any band program for many years.
Members of this organizing committee have been placed in specific positions of the event where they are responsible for providing leadership. Additionally, there are a few positions that require specific experience as well as requiring the individual to work about an 18 hour day, from 4-6am through 10-12pm. We do not ask for volunteers for these positions. These unique positions include the following:
General Coordinators - Committee Leadership
Together these individuals have more than 60 years of combined experience specifically organizing the Red Rocks Event. Additionally, hours worked by the leadership of the Red Rocks Committee are not credited to any band program.

These positions require specific knowledge and training. Additionally, all of the following positions require the individual to commit to working the entire event from very early in the morning until after the event is over.
