SCHOOL AGE

Please read our SNOW DAY policy for SCHOOL AGE kids

1. Kidz Konnection does NOT close for the weather. We will always be open for inclement weather at 6:30am. I will be sure to contact everyone ahead of time in the rare event that would ever change.

2. Any student enrolled in our before OR after school program is welcome to attend during delays, early dismissals, or school closures.

3. You DO NOT have to contact me or your child’s teachers to request that your child attend on dismissals, delays, or snow days. We realize these are usually last minute calls by the school, therefore, we prepare for these events. (**You still DO NEED to notify us via our Google Survey for PRE-SET no school days**)

4. We ask that only students who require care attend daycare on bad weather days. Our staff are limited during bad weather since many of our employees live out of the area. These days are considered emergency days and are only to be used if you do not have alternative care for your child.

5. If you have questions regarding weather days, please ask in advance during our regular business hours so that your question is sure to be answered. (My office hours for receiving calls and texts is 8am-6pm Monday-Friday). Staff are encouraged not to answer texts and emails outside of normal business hours.

INFANT - PRE-K KIDS

PLEASE READ OUR SNOW DAY POLICY FOR INFANT - PRE-K KIDS

First and foremost, please be considerate on bad weather days. We are one of the few (if not the only) daycare in the area that stays open for bad weather. We do this as a courtesy for families that do not have alternative options in an emergency situation. Many of our staff live more than 30 minutes away and are risking their safety to come into work to watch children.

We ALWAYS limit the amount of staff at daycare on bad weather days knowing that we are only caring for children who have parents required to work with not other child care options.

We understand that sometimes parents need breaks and that there are times children want to come to daycare to play with friends on days their parents are off from work. We are ok with children attending if there are scheduled days a parent has a planned vacation day from work. We can NOT, however, use bad weather days for these purposes.

2. Infant through Pre-K students are welcome to come on emergency days ONLY if there is an emergency where parents are required to work and do not have alternative care for their child.

3. You need to contact your child’s teacher if your child is not attending on a bad weather day. Email is the best form of contact for these days. Please copy me as well so that I can relay messages if your teacher is not present on a bad weather day.
