Jordan Koontz Revisits Victory Lane at COTA for Second Season 6 Win
Jordan Kootnz (4-Time Series Winner) survived a chaotic road race at Circuit of the Americas to become the first repeat winner of Season 6. His victory in the last race was his first on a road course after winning at Kansas, Michigan, and Dover over the last three seasons.
Starting from 10th position, he avoided an opening lap wreck involving polesitter Dylan Ault (13-Time Series Winner) and several others. Later, he held off Nick Miller (9-Time Series Winner) and Luke Peters (4 Series Top 10s) to take the win, leading 12 laps of 34.
2.) N. Miller (-1.675) 3.) L. Peters (-7.228) 4.) C. Harts (-18.467) 5.) A. Heider (-33.181, Stage Winner)
Koontz Rides Wave of Momentum to East Coast’s Dover Motor Speedway
The streak of different winners came to an end in the last race at Circuit of the Americas as Jordan Koontz notched his first road course win in the series and second victory of Season 6. Having won at Atlanta earlier this season, Koontz assumed the points lead entering this week’s race at Dover, a track he won at during Season 5 back on January 6. At that race, he led 111 of 180 laps to help punch his ticket to the Championship round.
Alexander Heider Bounces Back in Austin with COTA Stage Win, Top 5
Returning to a form not seen since Daytona, Alex Heider (3 Series Top 10s) would deliver a top-quality performance at Circuit of the Americas. He held off a surging Jordan Koontz to win his first stage of the season. His pursuit of a win would be derailed as he and Michael Rosero (1 Series Win) collided on the subsequent restart, dropping Heider back to 9th before he rebounded to finish 5th.
Defending Series Champion Nick Miller Impresses in Return at COTA
In his first start since winning the Season 5 championship at Homestead Miami Speedway, Nick Miller (Season 4 Champion, 9-Time Series Winner) staged a comeback after overshooting Turn 1 on the opening lap and impacting the corner-exit tire barrier. Finishing 3rd in Stage 1, he would bring the fight to Cory Harts (14 Series Top 5s) and Luke Peters (4 Series Top 10s) before finishing 1.6 seconds behind Jordan Koontz (4-Time Series Winner).
Nine Races Until 14 Drivers Begin Their Pursuit of a Championship
Dover marks nine races until the start of the CHM Premier Series Playoffs at Talladega Superspeedway. 14 drivers will compete for the title across six weeks. Jordan Koontz (2 Wins This Season), Luke Lofaro (4 Top 10s This Season) have already begun to be eyed as championship contenders early into Season 6.
Tale of Two Races: Quiet Stage Leads to Exciting Overtime Win for Blaise Brinkley
Dylan Ault (13-Time Series Winner) would lead all 30 laps of the opening stage at Chicagoland, foreshadowing a potential victory at the track, building on his win from Season 4. Cautions would become more frequent as the final stage got underway, resulting in an overtime finish after a crash involving Zachary Thornton (4 Season 6 Top 10s).
Five drivers opted to stay out during the final caution, including Blaise Brinkley (4 Series Wins), Luke Lofaro (4 Season 6 Top 10s), and Erich Keplinger (3 Season 6 Top 10s). Ault, who led 96 laps, would crash off Turn 2, finishing 12th after starting on pole, as the gamble paid off for the lead trio.
Brinkley becomes the fourth different winner this season. (Record: 5 in Opening 5 Races, Season 3)
2.) L. Lofaro (-0.462) 3.) E. Keplinger (-0.621, 5 Led), 4.) J. Koontz (-0.935) 5.) Z. Thornton (-2.439)
Michael Rosero grabs first CHM Premier Series victory at Auto Club
After five podium appearances during his career, including 3 runner-up finishes, the part-time driver was able to break through to earn his first series win at Auto Club, leading 22 laps and surviving a late challenge from Kohl Williams (2 Series Wins, Season 4 Champion, - 0.418). He was able to overcome a Lap 18 off-track excursion to drive back through the field and avoid later crashes among the leaders.
Top 5: 3. Zachary Thornton (-1.975, Led 8), 4. Cody Webster (-1.981, Led 9), 5. Latham Joiner (-2.072)
Three Different Winners to Start Season
Michael Rosero becomes the third different winner to win this season, opening the door for the streak to continue heading into Chicagoland Speedway. Aaron Plemons took the season-opening win at Daytona, while Jordan Koontz was victorious at Atlanta. The record for different winners to start a season is five, dating back to Season 3: Blaze McKinney, Vicente Salas, Sam King, Dylan Ault, Brody Garner
Lots of Incidents to Start Season 6… But It Could Be Worse.
Drivers finishing races without incident have become hard to come by three races into Season 6. Entering Chicagoland, only one driver has finished a race without an incident point, Jordan Koontz, who would win at Atlanta. Even with that stat, things could be worse…
Auto Club: 237x am. 27 Drivers (Last Season, Chicagoland: 257x am. 32/34 Drivers (2 with 0x)
Season 6: 768 incidents in 3 races (Last Season: 986)

Jordan Koontz Nabs Early Season Six Victory at Atlanta, Holding Off Malachi Drake, Ryan Barry
Jordan Koontz (3-Time Series Winner) led 63 laps at Atlanta Motor Speedway on his way to his first win of Season 6. Malachi Drake (2-Time Series Winner) would battle in the 10 laps following final green flag pit stops before ultimately falling back, finishing 2nd (-2.003, Led 22 Laps).
Ryan Barry (3 Series Top 5s) dueled with Malachi Drake and Jordan Koontz throughout the race, but handling issues would remove him from the battle during the final stage. A speeding penalty during the race’s lone green flag pit stop would seal his 4th place finish (-1 Lap, Led 16 Laps).
League newcomer Justin Rector (1 Series Top 5) would finish 3rd (-24.878).
Daytona Winner Aaron Plemons Overcomes Rocky Race in 10th Place Atlanta Finish
Aaron Plemons (1 Series Win) nabbed the pole for the Peachtree State 162 but was unable to lead one lap during the race, falling outside the Top 5 early in the race. A pair of incidents later in the event would relegate the Daytona winner to a tenth place finish (-52 Laps)
Two Large Crashes Rip Through Atlanta Field
A crash on Lap 5 would collect nearly a dozen cars, among them Colton Lites, Latham Joiner, Casey Drake, Wade Poole, and others. The crash occurred following Luke Lofaro getting loose on the exit of Turn 4 through the tri-oval, leading to contact between Lofaro and Joiner.
A second crash would occur in a similar location in the tri-oval on Lap 33’s stage restart. Mitch Hobbs would face an issue, resulting in him veering toward the outside wall, into the path of several cars, including Cody Webster (6/2), Will Cloud (11/5), Luke Lofaro (9/11), and others.
Aaron Plemons Gets Maiden Victory at Daytona After Dodging Crashes
In his first Cory Harts Media Premier Series start, Aaron Plemons was able to drive the No. 67 Chevrolet to victory following a string of crashes that marred the pace of the race, leading 5 laps.
Plemons would win his first stage as a crash at the exit of Turn 4 ended the 25-lap stage prematurely by one lap.
Benjamin White (Season 5 Talladega winner) would finish 2nd, leading 12 laps; league newcomer Alexander Heider finished 3rd, leading 5 laps; Luke Lofaro and Casey Drake earned Top 5s.

Early in the race, a large crash on Lap 4 off Turn 4 collected Jordan Koontz (2-Time Series Winner) and roughly a half-dozen cars, finishing 29th. 20 Laps later, a crash on Lap 24 in the same general area ending the hopes of Brody Garner, Cory Harts, and approximately a dozen cars. Garner would finish 26th, Harts 27th.

Cody Webster Takes The Checkered In The Clash!
Season 6 has officially begun and last Thursday it was Cody Webster's night during The Clash. 20 guys took the green for 50 laps at Daytona and it came down to teammates at the end of the race. Arron Brown, Cody Webster, Jordan Koontz, Ryan Kendrick and Cole Hooper were set up for a 5 lap shootout at the end of the race. Cody Webster put himself out front of Cole Hooper with one to go and did everything to keep the pack behind him. It was a 3 wide battle going into turn three between Koontz, Kendrick and Webster. Webster got a good enough push from Arron Brown off of turn 4 to clear the guys crashing behind and to take he first checkered of the season.
P1: Cody Webster
P2: Arron Brown
P3: Cole Hooper
Season 6 Pre-Season Week 1 Review & Week 2 Preview
Last Thursday we saw the Xfinity Cars take to action at Daytona for the first Pre-Season race. With a healthy car count of 28, we saw great green flag racing, close calls and a wild finish. While the guys were trying to perform and show that they can race in the new season, regulars made it hard for the newcomers to get their feet wet. At the end of the race, Magnum Tate (BHR Affiliate) took the checkered with help of regular Blaise Brinkley and newcomer Reagon Parent!
Saturday we had a practice session for the 16 Hour Event at South Boston where Josh Kossek showed speed in the Super Later Model and Parker White showed speed in the Late Model. But due to not enough team entries for the event, the admin officials have decided to move the event to the Next Gen cars at Daytona for 175 laps and a prize purse of $175. The race will be held February 26th at 7:00PM Est. Currently we have 38 drivers registered. If you are interested please contact Cody Webster or join the discord.
Looking Forward: Tonight, February 10th, 2022, there will be another Pre-Season recruitment race at Richmond Raceway with the Xfinity cars. It will be 60 laps around the short track and it will be in hosted at 7:00pm Est. Everyone is welcome that meets the criteria of 1700+ iR and Class C+. Hope to see some new faces out there!

Nick Miller Dominates Homestead and Captures His First Championship!
Nick Miller came into Homestead with a 9 point advantage over Sartaj Mann and 13+ over the rest of the championship contenders. It was a simple goal for Nick Miller, keep your competitors close and not let them gain more points than him. With early challenges from Jordan Koontz, it looked like it would be a hard battle between the two. But before the stage came to an end, Nick Miller took the lead back from Koontz and had to hold off a hard charging Parker White in order to take the checkered for the stage. In styling fashion, Miller did so and pretty much solidified himself as the champion. From the drop of the green Miller had an early challenge from White and relinquished the lead to him. But laps later White disconnected and handed the lead back to Miller. The rest of the race went green and the drivers had to face pit stops and Miller did not disappoint. He continued to grow his lead over Brody Garner and never looked back. Nick Miller led 108 laps, won the stage, got the pole and won by 10+ seconds over Brody Garner. It was a great way for Nick Miller to go out on top!
Top 5:
Nick Miller
Brody Garner
Blaise Brinkley
Josh Kossek
Sartaj Mann
