Red Ink Adaptation House exists to open the door the industry keeps shut. Created by author Mord McGhee, the House offers a rare, time‑limited chance for broke, ambitious indie filmmakers to adapt one of his published short stories and select musical compositions for a symbolic dollar. This is a give‑back pact — a rebellion against gatekeeping, a hand extended to the creators who have nothing but grit, vision, and fire.
We believe legends are born from opportunity, not budgets. We believe the unheard deserve a shot at the screen. We believe that stories should move, breathe, and evolve in the hands of the bold.
For thirty days each year, the House opens its door for 1$ acquisitions that last one-year. Extensions discussed case-by-case. Those who step through earn the right to bring a McGhee story to life — not for profit, not for prestige, but for the love of creation and the hunger to make something real. Mord has even agreed to assist in screenplay development upon request.
Red Ink Adaptation House: Because every legend starts when someone opens the door — and this one is only once per year.
2026: 14th June, 2026 to 13th July, 2026
After these dates no contract will be accepted. Terms are one year, extensions at author's discredition.
