Red Deer for Palestine protests every Sunday from 12:00 - 1:00 PM
Red Deer for Palestine hosted a vigil on January 27, 2024, to memorialize the victims of the ongoing genocide in Palestine. We want to thank MLA Janis Irwin for her attendance and support and The Red Deer Advocate for their coverage of this significant story.
Red Deer for Palestine planted dozens of Palestinian flags in City Hall Park's flower beds on May 3, 2024, to represent tens of thousands of Palestinians lost to genocide and promote awareness in our community. Thank you to The Red Deer Advocate for covering this.
Red Deer for Palestine hosted a screening of the prominent documentary, Where Olive Trees Weep, on June 25, 2024, to raise funds for aid and relief efforts in Palestine. Thank you to the attendees for their support and to The Red Deer Advocate for their coverage of this story.
Thank you to those who joined us for our 'One Year of Genocide, One Year of Resistance Rally and March,' at City Hall Park on Sunday, October 6, 2024. We took it to the city's doorstep to commemorate the victims of genocide since October 7, 2023, and to demand an arms embargo, an end to Israeli occupation and apartheid. Several citizens of Central Alberta brought their Palestinian and Lebanese flags, signs, and keffiyehs in support of liberation.
We are so grateful to all who supported this event and were outspoken against Israel's violent war crimes and genocide.
On February 2, 2025, despite -40°C wind chill, Red Deer for Palestine joined a global protest against Chevron for supporting Israel. The BDS Campaign’s boycott is growing, with tens of thousands avoiding Chevron and divestments in at least 3 cities ahead of Chevron’s earnings call. The campaign condemns Chevron for fueling genocide by supplying energy and revenue to apartheid Israel. While local Chevron stations are franchises, activists urged owners to sign a letter demanding Chevron divest from Israel, display Palestinian solidarity signs, and/or switch brands entirely. The boycott mirrors past movements, including the 1960s and 70s campaigns that pressured companies like Shell to divest from apartheid South Africa.
On behalf of Red Deer for Palestine, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who attended our Art Gallery Fundraiser at the Pioneer Lodge. Thanks to your generosity and support, we raised $1,650.00 for UNRWA!
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all attendees who contributed to this success. We look forward to continuing our efforts to make a positive impact in the lives of Palestinians.

“We decided to host this event because art is inherently political, and our aim is to mobilize it as an instrument of resilience against adversity,” organizers said in a media release.
“In the face of ongoing apartheid and ethnic cleansing, these installations aim to directly confront and engage with the suffering of Palestinians, offering the public a profound and honest perspective.”
