Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is key during remote learning. We were able to connect by posting and sharing things in FlipGrid. We were able to continue to connect over fun seasonal activities. My students shared their April Fool tricks with one another. Also, students completed different fun activities that were centered around their wellbeing. We used different prompts from the wellbeing jar. We missed seeing our reading therapy dog so every week we viewed a different message from Toby. Then the students had the chance to respond with messages for Toby. We loved participating in our Class Meetings via Google Meet. We were able to sing Happy Birthday, celebrate the awesome work of our students, and we had the chance to say goodbye to our student teacher. Another way I tried to continue our strong culture online involved creating a virtual classroom. I incorporated different things that the students remembered from our physical classroom.
