Bounce Back and Adapt
Red River Resilience is a community action group promoting resilience through life transitions.
Resilience is the ability to bounce back from crisis or adversity, and to adapt well to changes in your life. Everyone has the capacity for resilience, and you can learn to develop your resilience skills at any age. Resilient ways of thinking and behaving, which result in successful coping and adaptation to challenging situations, are summarized by the acronym F.A.C.T.S.
Our Vision
To partner with others in opportunities for sharing the resilience message.
To teach community and government leaders the importance of resilience in preparation for and responding to disaster.
To build community resilience, one person at a time;
To help non-disaster groups incorporate resilience building education and skill building.
We believe everyone can benefit from learning the simple F.A.C.T.S. mnemonic to facilitate their own resilience.
We encourage people to be creative in the ways that they educate others about resilience.
We offer free to anyone the resilience tools on our website.
The more educated communities are about the benefits of being resilient, the more effective people will be at reducing stress and managing adverse life events.
The more people use the F.A.C.T.S. of Resilience, the more resilient each of us becomes.
The more resilient people become, the resilient are our communities and, thus, the better able to respond to disasters, emergencies and crises.
