Effective date: May 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Appmerge ("Appmerge," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use RecoverTrail (the "App"). RecoverTrail is a hunting recovery utility that helps users highlight likely blood sign, save GPS recovery markers, view map/weather context, and read field recovery guidance.
RecoverTrail is designed to work without an account. We do not require you to create a profile or sign in to use the App.
RecoverTrail uses the camera for the Blood Lens feature. Camera frames are processed on your device to highlight likely blood/sign visually. We do not automatically upload live camera video or camera frames to our servers.
If you choose to use the "Improve Detection" or calibration tools, the App may save a selected camera frame and related metadata locally on your device. This local metadata may include the sample label, time, sensitivity mode, confidence values, spot count, device model, app version, and, if location is available, the approximate marker coordinate. These samples are stored on your device unless you choose to export or share them.
RecoverTrail requests "While Using the App" location access. Location is used to:
Save shot, blood, and recovery markers.
Center the map and show your route context.
Load local weather and wind context.
Query nearby public land/access map layers.
Support parcel-provider lookup if a live parcel provider is connected in the future.
The App does not request background location access. Recovery markers and route/session information are stored locally on your device.
To provide map and field context, the App may send coordinates or map-area queries to service providers, including:
Apple MapKit and Apple Weather, when available on the device.
Open-Meteo for weather fallback.
Public land/access map sources such as PAD-US and BLM ArcGIS services.
A parcel data provider if a live provider is configured in a future version.
These services may process the request data according to their own policies. RecoverTrail does not currently provide guaranteed live landowner or contact lookup for all properties.
RecoverTrail offers auto-renewable subscriptions for Recovery Pro. Purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit and supported by AppActor for product offerings, entitlement status, restore purchase, receipt/customer information, remote configuration, and purchase attribution.
We receive subscription status needed to unlock premium features. We do not receive your full payment card number from Apple.
The App may ask for Apple App Tracking Transparency permission. Allowing tracking is optional and does not unlock or block any recovery feature. If allowed, tracking may be used to measure advertising campaigns and improve subscription offers. You can change this permission in iOS Settings.
If you contact us for support, we may receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, screenshots, device details, or issue description.
RecoverTrail stores certain information locally on your device, including:
Recovery markers and session data.
Calibration feedback.
Optional training samples you choose to save.
Onboarding, paywall, rating prompt, and permission state.
Subscription entitlement cache.
You can remove local app data by using available in-app reset/clear controls where provided or by deleting the App from your device.
We use information to:
Provide and improve core app features.
Save and display your recovery markers and map context.
Load weather, wind, and public access context.
Process subscriptions, restore purchases, and manage premium access.
Improve Blood Lens calibration on your device.
Respond to support requests.
Measure campaign performance where permitted.
Maintain app security, reliability, and App Store compliance.
We may share limited information with service providers that help operate the App, such as Apple, AppActor, weather/map/public land data providers, email/support providers, and future parcel-data providers if enabled.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your camera frames to train a remote model automatically.
Local marker, calibration, and training sample data remains on your device until you delete it, reset it, or uninstall the App. Subscription and purchase records may be retained by Apple, AppActor, and us as needed to provide entitlements, comply with legal obligations, prevent fraud, and resolve support issues.
You can:
Deny camera, location, or tracking permissions.
Change permissions in iOS Settings.
Stop using location-based features by turning location permission off.
Delete local app data by deleting the App.
Cancel subscriptions through your Apple Account subscription settings.
Contact us to request help with privacy questions.
Some features require camera or location access to work properly.
RecoverTrail is intended for lawful hunting and outdoor recovery use. It is not directed to children under 13. Users must comply with local laws and age requirements for hunting and outdoor activities.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The App may be used in different countries and may rely on service providers that process information in different regions. By using the App, you understand that information may be processed where we or our providers operate, subject to applicable law.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will update the effective date and may provide additional notice in the App or on our website.
