RecipeMe Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the RecipeMe mobile application ("the App") operated by RecipeMe ("we", "our", "us").

By downloading or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Use of the App

RecipeMe is a recipe discovery and kitchen management tool. You may use the App to scan food items, manage a virtual fridge, browse recipes, and access cooking instructions. You agree to use the App only for its intended purpose and in compliance with all applicable laws.

2. Accounts and Subscriptions

RecipeMe offers a free tier with limited features and paid subscription plans (Pro, Family, and Chef). Subscription details and pricing are displayed within the App before purchase.

Subscriptions are billed through Google Play. By subscribing, you agree to Google Play's terms of service for in-app purchases. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel your subscription through Google Play.

Prices are subject to change. We will notify users of any price changes in advance.

3. Free Trial

Certain subscription plans may include a free trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid plan at the listed price.

4. AI Scanning Features

The AI-powered scanning features (fridge scan and receipt scan) use artificial intelligence to identify food items. While we strive for accuracy, AI identification may not always be perfect. You should review and confirm all identified items before adding them to your fridge or using them to find recipes.

We are not responsible for any inaccuracies in AI identification, including but not limited to misidentified items, missing items, or incorrect quantities.

5. Recipe Information

Recipes displayed in RecipeMe are sourced from TheMealDB, a third-party recipe database. We do not create or verify the recipes. Nutritional information, cooking times, and ingredient measurements are provided as general guidance only.

RecipeMe is not responsible for the accuracy of recipe instructions, ingredient lists, or nutritional information. Users with food allergies or dietary restrictions should independently verify all ingredients before preparing any recipe.

6. Shopping Links

RecipeMe provides links to Amazon and Walmart for purchasing ingredients. These links may contain affiliate tags. We are not responsible for the products, pricing, availability, or service provided by these third-party retailers. Your purchases from these retailers are governed by their respective terms of service.

7. Intellectual Property

The RecipeMe app, including its design, code, and branding, is the intellectual property of RecipeMe. Recipe data is provided by TheMealDB and is subject to their licensing terms. Food ingredient images are provided by TheMealDB.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App without our written permission.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

We do not provide medical, nutritional, or dietary advice. Always consult a healthcare professional regarding food allergies, dietary needs, or health concerns.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RecipeMe shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the App.

This includes but is not limited to damages from allergic reactions, food poisoning, incorrect recipe information, or AI misidentification of food items.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the App.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will update the "Last updated" date when changes are made.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
