represent recess! on your campus.
400-500L on recess! • Biomedical Engineering • Landmark University + Afe Babalola University • 2026 Graduate
oladipupo is not another failing genius.
Oladipupo got Ewa Agoyin & Dodo in 2022. Unlike any other buyers, he paid before he resumed 100L, in cash, for the whole book.
He also worked as a recess! Ambassador, hesitantly pushing the book on his campus, but primarily providing insights on what life was like for a Nigerian student in 2023.
Hesitantly because he believed the best proof was his own grades, yet, even as an Owner of the book, he was still underperforming. In his first year, Ewa Agoyin & Dodo was just an interesting book and he mostly believed in himself. By his second year, he had crammed partial sections of a few chapters with little to show for it.
I checked up on him (as I usually do with owners) and his performance had affected his self-esteem. The Oladipupo I know has an insatiable appetite for knowledge & precision and high emotional energy to drive him, yet the person I met had decided against his own intelligence.
He was working hard and getting rubbish each semester, and the pressure was remoulding him in a painful image.
Try Ewa Agoyin Sauce, the book AI Oladipupo used to go from 2.7 to 4.8 GPA after 1 semester.
"I always felt I was doing much more than a lot of people and still didn’t see results... there’s too many distractions out there..."
Stick around for his full statement.
His high energy is an unfair advantage that drove him far once he learned to harness it, but for years it was continuously "debited" by the expenses he hadn't learned to control daily: distractions.
We could blame the timing he got Ewa Agoyin & Dodo, and/or the 3-5x lower price he paid (compared to the official re-entry price when recess! resumed in 2023) for how long it took him to take it seriously, but the only difference that mattered was resolve.
Up until his lowest GPA at 2.7, it was still easy to blame other factors:
"My scripts were not well-marked." (disproved)
"I'll do better next time." (without a system)
"I have to work harder than others." (didn't understand school)
Now out of options after testing each blame theory across 6 semesters, with his back against the wall, the only place he wanted to go was up.
With his finally clear resolve, and Ewa Agoyin & Dodo as his force multiplier, after 1 semester of applying it—even after months away from school on IT—he followed the same trajectory I did, then overtook it by 4x.
In this story, you'll see why Oladipupo's pure drive has brought him the same recess! I've been enjoying from a balanced effort-results ratio.
I'm super proud to feature his story here (and first with the Sauce!) to inspire students in each generation as a shining example of our mission to reconnect raw African talent to our economy. 🌞
Oladipupo (third from the left) now combines his interests in machine learning to engineer biomedical systems.

"2.7 wasn’t just a number. It was walking into exam halls confused, feeling like everyone else got a memo I missed, and telling myself, 'maybe I’m just not smart enough.' It was my lowest point, because I could see where that road led: job hunting and master’s admissions are hard when your transcript doesn’t show what you can do."
Different students find their resolve from different points and for different reasons, but it's the one thing I can't help manufacture. If who we are is what we want, the conditions enough to create that internal pressure are uniquely valued and understood.
I too worked hard and failed even more until I found Ewa Agoyin & Dodo. I've interviewed many graduates and being unable to break this cycle sticks with them for life, showing up in their daily habits and their excuses for not reaching their full potential.
"I first found the Recipe book right before I entered 100 level, and it didn’t mean much then. I didn’t understand its value until I needed it.
I realised that in the real world, my intelligence would only be proven by my grades. Nobody gets to see what you’re capable of unless you’re given the chance first, and I didn’t want to spend my life explaining myself without evidence.
So I went back to it, and this time it landed.
It felt like school was just a puzzle. It wasn’t as complex as it had been made to seem. Lecturers don’t grade intelligence. They grade whether you gave them what they wanted."
"your first degree is like a scar, it’ll never go away. I’m glad it worked out."
"I started by rewriting my notes over and over. It felt productive, but I was copying, not learning. No active recall, no spaced repetition, so it was gone by exam day. What changed things was believing I was smart enough to do this and building a system around myself.
If I was sure I knew something and still got 12/30, I went and asked why and what they wanted to hear. One doctor showed me how it works. His materials could be as long as an encyclopedia, but his questions, assignments, and classwork all pointed to what he cared about. When I asked how to get an A, he told me to aim for a general understanding and focus on what he spent time on. He also loved diagrams: two lines with a diagram impressed him more than seven lines of text.
I use NotebookLM to turn my PDFs and slides into videos and mini podcasts that break down the how and why, way before exam season. I read ahead before every class so nothing is new. I practise past questions and derivations against the clock, because knowing the answer means nothing if you can’t finish the paper in time. And I plan: reminders, no multitasking, everything done well before deadlines. TDB (till day break, the all-nighter) isn’t part of my life anymore.
I kept going back to the Sauce (book's AI) to customise and perfect my system."
You can't copy his sauce. The same way his motivations are different, his system is. Your own academic lock-ins don’t last because you overestimate your willpower.
School isn't about intelligence or sacrifice, it's about Ewa Agoyin & Dodo. Trust me to help you find your own.
"It built gradually: 2.7, then 3.58, then 4.78. At 3.58, I realised I could really do this.
The workload never got lighter and I didn’t wake up smarter. It was consistent follow-through on a system I kept tweaking until it fit me. In my 4.78 semester, I took all the electives to chase the highest GPA I could get. It was probably the hardest thing I’d done. I looked at the mountain, took it bit by bit, and before I knew it I was ready before tests.
I walked into exams and tests zealous and prepared, not distressed or anxious. With Ewa Agoyin Sauce, I finally found a working system, and I used it, abused it, and spammed it relentlessly."
He thinks it's gradual, but he overtook me by far. It took me 4 semesters on recess! to get my first 4.5+ GPA. He did it after 1 with a much bigger workload.
Bro was doubting his intelligence before. Similar to Atinuke, Oladipupo was willing to work more. Fortunately, with quick feedback from the Sauce, his energy was optimised. There's no point of a system if it makes you work more, so I'm very glad Ewa Agoyin Sauce can provide the right words at the right time for each student's situation to reduce the cost of academic success.
"If I could go back and talk to my younger self, I’d say: intelligence isn’t the only key. A working system is. Build it, test it, and tweak it until it’s yours. It’s not chess just checkers, predictable and easy to learn with the right points.
I never used Ewa Agoyin Sauce once and shelved it. Whenever I had questions or felt overwhelmed, I went back to it, and it got me prepared and zealous. It became a tool I kept using to perfect a system and tweak the design to mine and I just finally got the hang of it.
I’m glad it worked out, cuz it’s my desperation for a better future that academics may open that drove me."
Ewa Agoyin Sauce is the AI that allows you talk to the book. Apart from his resolve, the only thing that changed for Oladipupo was the Sauce. He understood Ewa Agoyin & Dodo faster, and got instant, customised help.
his complete statement on Ewa Agoyin & Dodo:
"I’d say, if you truly think you’ve done your very best then I can empathize with how you feel, honestly. There’s this chapter in the book that spoke on putting energy in the wrong direction, “pushing a pull door” and I always felt I was doing much more than a lot of people and still didn’t see results.
I’d say the most important thing is building a system tailored only to you, understanding your learning methods and your ability to recall is very essential as well as building a habit. How bad do you want this? Because for me it was as bad as if I didn’t do this at the time I would’ve been short of a 2:1.
Don’t doubt yourself but don’t be too confident because it worked out the first time, like for tests or an exam, answering only 3 questions a 100 percent isn’t as good as a consistent 80 percent in all 5. I’d say, there’s too many distractions out there and you need to want this bad enough to push them aside, could be sports, games, social media, movies, series, relationships and all that. Because it’s not magic, the book said “project cyclops” focus on one thing at a time. You can be jack of all trades after school. But right now priorities!!!
I quit a lot to get back on track and when the system started working I could adapt putting my hobbies in. No one is dumb or unintelligent, “books smarts” is overrated, but you have to beat the system to prove to yourself and others, that it’s not school that should define your intelligence.
Even if you don’t intend to use your degree, whether you take a masters PhD or second degree, your first degree is like a scar, it’ll never go away."
Oladipupo took a huge bet on himself to increase his final CGPA into the 2:1 bracket. If you need to know where you stand academically to decide your next move, the CGPA Abacus is the tool I built for that.
Not the free one, the ₦1k one. You're paying for precision, speed, ease and historical tracking. When I calculated my best case scenario in 100L, I calculated rubbish. Now you have an instant calculator that remembers your past performance so you don't have to start fresh each semester.
I advertise to newly-admitted students and freshers hoping for a miracle, but the proof so far shows the best time to get the book itself is still in 200L. In trying to build confidence, young people are often stubborn and ignore advice until their options have run out.
My goal is to at least get 1% of Nigeria's 2.5m students (admitted yearly) using Ewa Agoyin Sauce (book's AI). When they're ready to see the full picture in Ewa Agoyin & Dodo, they'll already have experience interacting with The Recipe for The Happier Student.
Oladipupo finished happy. His resolve took him from a 2.7 to a 4.8 GPA after 1 semester with Ewa Agoyin Sauce.
Your story is just beginning.
