Overview
I am a social scientist, policy researcher, and writer specializing in equity, federal education policy, and Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs). I translate data, research, and policy into analysis that informs decision-making and shapes public discourse about how institutions and policies affect people and organizations.
Background & Training
Originally from Miami, Florida, I earned my B.A. in philosophy and sociology from the University of Central Florida, where I began examining unequal educational pathways and opportunity. I completed an M.A. in sociology and a Ph.D. in higher education policy at the University of Georgia, with a focus on applied research and policy. My training as a sociologist informs how I approach policy questions, focusing on systems, structure, and context rather than isolated outcomes.
