Born and raised in San Juan, I studied political science and journalism at the University of Puerto Rico, where my desire to understand and write about our complex social and political world led me to discover a passion for research.
At the University of Illinois, I became not only a researcher but also a teacher and mentor, finding my intellectual home in political psychology and the study of how people navigate political, social and cultural changes in increasingly diverse societies.
Now, I seek to leverage my expertise in political behavior, survey methodology, and causal inference to advance knowledge and inform real-world decisions. I am also committed to teaching, mentoring and helping others succeed.
