I am running Debian 11. I had trouble getting to use my headset mic and audio at the same time. I found some errors while executing a command for initframs (not for this matter) and I saw I was missing some Realtek firmware(that's my onboard mobo soundcard). So,then I got realtek firmware installed using sudo apt-get install firmware-realtek ,after I rebooted I could see two more options.I used Stereo Duplex and it worked untill I rebooted my PC,and now I am back at the initial part.I don't have these options and the package is installed. What should I do?

You might also run hdajacksensetest (in package alsa-tools) and see if the results look sensible. If it says present = No for an audio jack you know is actually connected, the jack sense map in the system BIOS might be incorrect. You can then use the hdajackretask (in package alsa-tools-gui) to override the BIOS-provided jack sense map. If you need to do that, you should try updating the system firmware (BIOS/UEFI) and see if that fixes the problem persistently. If not, then you should report your system/motherboard model and the hdajackretask options you needed to use to the Linux sound driver developers, so they can make future kernel versions apply the correction automatically.

I have installed Windows 8 on a machine with an Asus M4A88TD-M/USB3 motherboard which has an ALC892 sound chip. I can't seem to get the sound chip to work correctly. I've installed the latest driver 2.70 and the audio devices in the device manager look like this:

you talking about the front panel ?

im using using arch linux with kde plasma as desktop, and when i said i tried on ubuntu and manjaro i did not installed them i just tested it while booting the live usb, and the headphones are basic standard headphones (HP branded) with 2 separate 3.5mm jacks for headphones and mic and a usb cable that is just for the led lights its does not do anything else. and in windows i have to go to the realtek audio manager software that came with the motherboard and turn off the front panel port for some reason then it detects, and shows a separate audio source in the taskbar as realtek 2nd audio output.

after update/upgrade ubuntu 22.04, the is nosound output device in the settings > sound dialog. Also re-installed pulseaudio but it still does not start. output from debug script follows:
