All presenters are children

Bloom Fest is honoring children writers and celebrating their work. This program is designed for children by children. The keynote speakers, panelist and the moderators are all children.

Buds Keynote Speaker: Ayaan Kapadia Inspiration of ideas and process of writing

Ayaan has been awarded with the title of the youngest writer in India and the fastest writer in Asia. Writing has always been an inherent ability and was always a fanatic about books. When he was 9 he wrote his first book and since then he has always been motivated to write. His hobbies include basketball and badminton and programming.

Blossoms Keynote Speaker: Pari Pandey Different forms of writing

Pari Pandey is a student. She is the Founder of 'Code+Red'

(a feminine-hygiene project), Captain of the Robotics team, and a leader of The Girl Effect (a women’s empowerment club). She and Urvija lead the Eagles’ View the High School Student Newspaper. Besides her leadership efforts, Pari enjoys playing the saxophone and is a member of the HS Jazz Band. She loves writing in Spanish and is nearly fluent in the language. As a passionate advocate of student voice, Pari is looking forward to learning from this initiative and sharing her experiences as a writer.

During this workshop we will explore how to write unforgettable characters that’ll stick in a reader’s mind for a lifetime through lively discussions, games and much, much more!

Description: Aakansha is a 9th grader. Her favourite hobby is art and she will give us a glimpse into Warli Art. Warli art brings us closer to simplicity in life, lost in today's digital world. The purpose of this workshop is to introduce and inspire both the novice as well as the well-versed individual into understanding and pursuing this traditional art form.

Illustrators Modern Art Workshop Leader: Sofiya Leshko (Blossoms)

Title: Modern art is Beautiful.


Description: This workshop on modern art focuses on exploring, educating and breaking all the misconceptions on abstract art. Diving deeper into the world of abstraction and understanding the basics of channeling emotions into art. Sofiya Leshko, 16 year old has a strong driving passion for visual arts. She is devoted to portraying strong emotions through her art. Her interest lies in both human psychology and art that drives her to bring life into her art work.

Samaira Rodrigues

Samaira Rodrigues is 10 years old. She enjoys reading and writing short stories. She loves exploring creative arts, crafts and dance and believes that children should be given opportunities to express themselves. Her latest interest is rapping to on the spot prompts.

Urvija Mafatlal

Urvija Mafatlal, says, "Writing has always been a way of expression for me, whether it be through writing poems, blogs, podcasts, scripts, or editing articles for my school newspaper which I founded. As Co-editor of the newspaper 'Eagles' View', I have been exposed to many types of writings, have had a chance to enhance my own writing skills and have grown as a writer.

Reading & Writing Workshop with Gayathri Durairaj

Title: Ponder beyond stories with books.

Description: Through this workshop, parents will understand how to think and write creatively beyond the basic storyline. It’s a sneak peek into how parents can delve deeper into the stories to create valuable discussions with their children.

Gayathri Durairaj is an author, poet, global nomad and an economist by training She spearheaded various writing workshops and three anthologies for the school. Her first book of poems titled ‘Quintessential Me’ was published in June 2018. She has published her poems in many magazines like Ariana, Beyond Boundaries, Imprint and the ASB online magazine as well. She finds pleasure in the simplest of things and derives inspiration for her writing from her many travels and experiences. Check out her monthly blog.

Illustrators Workshop with Sonal Gupta

Tile: Let's Talk Pictures

Sonal Gupta Vaswani is an illustrator based in Mumbai, India. She has immense love for bright colors and visuals. Sonal enjoys experimenting with different mediums and textures. She likes to think like a child and draw like one. Sonal loves collecting matchboxes and hence is known by the name “thematchboxgirl”. When not drawing, she is busy cooking, eating, and talking to her cats and plants.

Kiara Rodrigues is a 12 year old studying in Grade 7 in Mumbai. She loves art and always challenges herself to self learn art techniques online. She’s an avid reader and is happy to combine her love of reading and art to create the logo for Read Bloom Books.
