Read Aloud AI Text to Voice, also referred to as Read Aloud AI or the “App,” is a mobile application developed by JanoGroup LLC (“JanoGroup,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
The App helps users turn text-based content into spoken audio and manage reading, listening, importing, saving, organizing, translating, summarizing, and related AI-assisted workflows.
Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how third-party services may process information, and what choices you have.
By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
The App does not require you to create an account or sign in to use core features.
We do not directly request or collect your name, email address, phone number, physical address, or precise location to create an account.
If you contact us for support, feedback, or other inquiries, we may receive your email address, contact details, message content, and any information you choose to include.
We use this information only to respond to you, provide support, troubleshoot issues, improve the App, and maintain business records where reasonably necessary.
Depending on the features you use, the App may allow you to import, paste, type, save, read, listen to, organize, translate, summarize, transcribe, export, or otherwise process content such as:
Text
Notes
Documents
Books
Articles
Web content
Public-domain books
Audio files or recordings, if supported
Transcriptions
Translations
Summaries
Generated or converted output
File names, reading progress, preferences, and related app data
Content you save in the App is generally stored locally on your device unless a feature clearly requires processing by a third-party provider or platform service.
JanoGroup does not operate its own account system or cloud storage service for your saved reading content, notes, recordings, transcriptions, translations, summaries, or documents.
The App may use Apple technologies, Google technologies, OpenAI services, or other supported providers to provide text-to-speech, voice, transcription, translation, summarization, rewriting, or related AI-assisted features.
When a feature requires external processing, the relevant content needed to complete your request may be sent to the applicable provider. For example, text may be sent for summarization, translation, rewriting, or voice generation, and audio may be sent for transcription if that feature is used.
We do not use this content to create a JanoGroup user profile, and we do not store this content on our own servers.
The App may include AI-powered features such as summarization, translation, rewriting, transcription, structured notes, or other generated outputs.
When you use AI-powered features, the relevant content you submit may be transmitted to third-party AI providers, such as OpenAI, Google, Apple, or other supported providers, solely to process your request and return the requested output.
Examples may include:
Sending text to generate a summary
Sending text to translate content
Sending text to rewrite or structure notes
Sending audio to generate a transcription, if transcription is supported
Sending content to generate reading-related or listening-related output
We do not store your submitted AI content on our own servers.
Third-party providers process data according to their own privacy policies, terms, security practices, and retention rules.
The App may allow users to browse, import, or access public-domain books or other content from external sources such as Project Gutenberg or similar public repositories.
When you access external content, the source provider may receive technical information such as your request, IP address, device information, or other data normally transmitted when connecting to an online service.
Content from external sources is governed by the applicable source’s own terms, licenses, policies, and availability.
The App may store certain information locally on your device to provide and improve functionality, such as:
Saved content
Reading progress
Playback preferences
Voice settings
Speed settings
Language settings
Theme or display preferences
Favorites, folders, or organization settings
Recent activity inside the App
Subscription or entitlement status received from platform or purchase providers
You can remove locally stored App data by deleting content inside the App, clearing available app data where supported, or uninstalling the App.
If you make an in-app purchase or subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your full payment card information.
We may use third-party services such as RevenueCat to validate purchases, manage subscription status, confirm entitlements, support trials, prevent fraud, and provide access to paid features.
Purchase-related data may include information such as product identifier, subscription status, transaction status, renewal status, trial status, entitlement status, App Store receipt information, device or app identifiers, and related technical information.
The App may display ads or sponsored content in free access tiers.
We may use Google AdMob or similar advertising providers to serve advertisements. These providers may collect or receive device identifiers, advertising identifiers, approximate location, usage information, ad interaction data, and other information for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, frequency capping, and personalization where permitted by your device settings and applicable law.
You can control ad personalization through your device settings and applicable platform privacy controls.
The App may receive or rely on technical information needed to operate, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the App.
This may include device type, operating system version, app version, crash logs, performance data, error reports, diagnostics, feature availability, provider errors, or similar technical information.
Apple, Google, RevenueCat, AdMob, OpenAI, and other providers may also collect technical or diagnostic information according to their own policies and your device settings.
We use information only as reasonably necessary to:
Provide App functionality
Enable text-to-speech, reading, listening, importing, exporting, translation, summarization, transcription, and other supported features
Process AI-powered requests
Save local preferences and App settings
Validate purchases, subscriptions, trials, and entitlements
Display advertisements in free access tiers
Prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, or misuse
Troubleshoot errors and maintain App stability
Respond to support requests
Improve App performance and user experience
Comply with legal obligations
Enforce our Terms of Use and protect our rights
The App may rely on third-party services, software development kits, APIs, platforms, or integrations to provide features and operate the App.
These may include:
Apple services, including App Store, StoreKit, device permissions, speech, voice, diagnostics, and platform frameworks
RevenueCat for subscription validation, entitlement management, trials, purchase status, and subscription-related operations
Google AdMob for advertising in free access tiers
Google services for voice, text-to-speech, translation, speech, or related features where applicable
OpenAI for AI-powered processing such as summarization, translation, rewriting, transcription, or similar features
Project Gutenberg or similar public-domain content sources
Other providers used to operate, secure, process, or improve App functionality
Third-party services are governed by their own privacy policies, terms, data practices, and security measures. We are not responsible for how third-party services process information outside our control.
Content saved in the App is generally stored locally on your device.
We do not operate our own user account database or cloud storage system for your saved notes, books, documents, recordings, transcriptions, summaries, translations, or reading content.
When you use features that require third-party processing, the relevant content may be transmitted to the applicable provider to complete your request. Those providers may process and retain information according to their own policies.
Support communications may be retained as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your inquiry, maintain business records, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and protect our rights.
Purchase and entitlement information may be retained by Apple, RevenueCat, or other purchase-related providers according to their own policies and as needed to validate subscriptions and purchases.
You can delete locally stored App content by deleting items inside the App, clearing available app data where supported, or uninstalling the App.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information associated with the App.
Local content is stored on your device and may be protected by your device’s operating system security features. We encourage you to protect your device with a passcode, biometric authentication, and updated operating system software.
No method of transmission, processing, or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of information stored on your device or processed by third-party providers.
The App is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children under 13 years old, or under 16 where required by applicable law.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
You may have the following choices and controls:
You can manage device permissions, such as microphone, speech recognition, notifications, files, or other permissions, through your device settings.
You can limit or reset advertising identifiers through your device settings.
You can control ad personalization through your device and platform privacy settings.
You can delete saved content inside the App where supported.
You can uninstall the App to remove locally stored App data from your device.
You can cancel subscriptions through your App Store account settings.
You can contact us with privacy-related questions at janogroupllc@gmail.com.
Because the App does not require a traditional account and generally stores user content locally on your device, most App content can be deleted directly by you.
You may delete individual items inside the App where supported, clear available App data, or uninstall the App to remove locally stored content.
For support communications, you may contact us at janogroupllc@gmail.com to request deletion where applicable and legally permitted.
For data processed by third-party providers such as Apple, Google, RevenueCat, AdMob, OpenAI, or Project Gutenberg, deletion requests may need to be directed to those providers according to their policies and systems.
Your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our third-party providers operate.
By using the App, you understand that information may be transferred to and processed in countries that may have privacy laws different from those in your location.
Where required by law, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
The App may use advertising services such as Google AdMob, which may process certain information for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, and personalization where permitted by your device settings and applicable law.
Where applicable privacy laws define certain advertising or analytics activities as “sharing” or “selling,” you may use your device settings and platform privacy controls to limit ad tracking or personalization.
AI-generated features, including summaries, translations, rewrites, transcriptions, or other automated outputs, may be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, inappropriate, or unsuitable for your intended purpose.
You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any AI-generated or automated output before relying on it, sharing it, or using it for important decisions.
Do not rely on App output for legal, medical, financial, safety-critical, employment, compliance, academic-integrity, or other high-risk purposes without independent verification.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
When we update this Privacy Policy, we will revise the “Last Updated” date above. Your continued use of the App after the updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means you accept the updated policy.
Where required by law, we will provide additional notice of material changes.
