Now that the season is in full swing we are hoping a few important reminders will help everyone navigate the rSchoolToday system. Please share the following information with the membership of your association:

Updating Your Profile:

All sports officials must:

Update at least two different phone contact number where you can be reached
Confirm the accuracy of your e-mail address where game contracts will be sent
Update any school “Exclusions” as part of the My Personal Info tab

Updating Availability:

Please make sure that you have updated your availability in the RefView system. Instructions on how this can be done has been attached to this email as well as within an example provided below:

Accessing Your Calendar

In the My Schedule Tab, you will find all the Game Contracts sent to you via email by Sports Desk Assistants. You can view your Schedule by List, Week, or Month View. A Color Coding system is used to help you identify the status of the games on your calendar.

This is the color key:

Gray – Events with no changes.
Green – Recently updated or rescheduled (labeled with an "R").
Red – Canceled events (labeled with a "C").
Yellow – Events that need the Official's confirmation due to some changes.

Confirming Contracts

When a game is changed or an assignment is added you will receive an email notification. It is important that you confirm your ability to work an event in a timely manner. A step by step guide is provided in the “Officials View” pdf attached to this email. In the Contracts Tab of your account, you can view, approve, or deny contracts received from Section One sports desk assistants.

Day of Game Confirmations

As we navigate the transition to rSchoolToday it is more important than ever that everyone confirm with schools for all daily events. This is especially important for days when weather may cause day of game changes. We have been working to reinforce the importance of this step with our schools as well but in the event that an issue arises, please reach out directly to the Sports Desk Assistant responsible for your sport and region.

Dear Fall Officials Presidents,

I want to provide a quick update as we work through the initial weeks of our migration to RefView. Please share the information below with your membership.

Access to Usernames and Passwords – Please refer to the instructions and screenshots that were sent to you on August 16^th. If you need me to resend the August 16^th email, please let me know. If an official still cannot log-in they should contact support@rschooltoday.com.

Updating Availability – Please remind officials to go into the system to update their availability. Availability from SportsPak was not part of the migration.

RefView Emails from Jesse Merchant – With the set-up and migration of the new system, through its design, many emails appear to be sent “from Jesse Merchant”, our Assistant Director. These emails are simply automated based upon a change that has occurred. If you have any questions about a change, the official should contact their assignor directly. These emails are not being sent by Jesse Merchant.

Confirming Games with the Schools – Communication is critical. While there are many great notification features in RefView, it is critical that officials still call the morning of their assignment to CONFIRM details directly with the school. If you notice a duplicate assignment, please inform your assignor to be sure you have the accurate information.

Turnback’s/Denied “Contracts” – If a contest has already been approved by the official, currently, you do not have the ability to turn the game back in the system. Therefore, an email should be sent directly to the respective assignor stating the sport, date, and level of the contest that they need to turnback.

Zones – Please be sure officials are updating their Zones in their profile. This can be found under the Sport, Certifications & Preferences tab in the profile. Games not visible to official on calendar – Some officials have reported not seeing contests on their calendar. This is most likely an instance where the contest was not confirmed by the official prior to the migration period. Therefore, a “contract” needs to be sent by the assignor to permit the official to view the contest and accept or decline it. If you are not able to view your contests, please contact your assignor directly and they will resend the “contract”.

Terminology – With the migration from one platform to another, there are some changes in terminology that come with the new system. For example, the use of the word “contracts” in RefView is the same as a Game Change Notification in SportsPak. While the wording has changed, the procedures and policies are the same as they have been in the past.

Payment of Officials – While the RefView system allows for an e-pay function, Section 1 does not intend to use this function in year 1 of the transition.

Once on the website, recover your pin first. To recover your pin see the image below for a detailed guide.

Once done with the step above a screen would pop up and you would see the image below. Follow the steps below to send the pin to your email. Please use the email that you are using for the Center for Interscholastic Athletics/Section One Southern Westchester BOCES

When done clicking send. Please check your inbox and your spam folders as well for the email from refview that contains your pin. Instructions on how to log in will be stated in the training as well. Please do not log in and enter any information until you have already gone through the training.
