PLAC Parent Priorities

1. School Level Parent Group Building: To support Community Building and Parent voice in schools buildings

• Define Parent Liaisons (PL), Home School Assistants (HSA) and Community Liaison Specialists (CLS) consistent role within the school building 

• General Membership meetings:  9/17;11/19;1/21;3/25;5/20

2. Parent Voice at the District Level: Parent Voice at the District Level

• Consistent, Equitable data collection from Parents and Caregivers across the district by the district through surveys, personal reach-out and in-person connections with PL, HAS and CLS

3. Safety & Security of Students & Staff: Students and Staff should feel safe

• Building Integrity

• Equitable pay rates for Staff

• Partner with the City on solutions to support Students & Families

4. Improve Communication: Equity, Predictability, Parent Engagement, Accountability

• Equity is always the expectation: Every student should have what they need to succeed 

• Plan, maintain consistency and create explicit expectations of Parents, Students, Staff and their roles within the school community 

• Build strong communication networks where none exist 

• Improve relationships of Staff to understand Students and Students to understand their educators and the expectations for Students.
