A Brief Report

1. Objective: To motivate the students and introduce them to the recent trends in the field of nanoscience.

2. Target group: BSc and Higher Secondary students

3. Significance of the event:

The event is aimed at the knowledge enhancement and skill development of the students. The programme is highly meaningful from a student perspective as they got the opportunity to physically interact with a renowned speaker and researcher Dr. Hemen Kumar Kalita, Assistant Professor, Gauhati University. Moreover, they were introduced to the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology. They could learn about various imaging techniques such as SEM, TEM, AFM etc.

4. Description of the programme:

The seminar began in the gracious presence of the Hon’ble Principal Dr. Ranjan Kalita and Vice Principal Dr. Ranendra Mohan Deka. Dr. Luxmi Machahari, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, introduced the speaker and called for the felicitation of the dignitaries. The head of the department of Physics, Dr. Rakesh Moulick explained the purpose of the meeting. The principal along with the vice principal delivered their lecture. The dais was handed over to the speaker for further elaboration. The session has been found to be highly interactive and due feedback from the audience is received. The event was concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Bijoy Sankar Boruah, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Physics.

5. Suggestions: Due feedback and suggestions from the audience is received at the end of the programme. Many of them suggested to hold such talk in the future times.
