The Source RCON Protocol is a TCP/IP-based communication protocol used by Source Dedicated Server, which allows console commands to be issued to the server via a "remote console", or RCON. The most common use of RCON is to allow server owners to control their game servers without direct access to the machine the server is running on. In order for commands to be accepted, the connection must first be authenticated using the server's RCON password, which can be set using the console variable rcon_password.

If the rcon_password cvar is written to for any reason, the server will immediately close all authenticated RCON connections. This happens even if the new value of rcon_password is identical to the old one. These connections will need to be re-opened and re-authenticated before any further commands can be issued. Connections which have not been authenticated yet are not dropped. If the password was changed remotely, the server will not respond to the command which caused the password to change.

Mcrcon is powerful IPv6 compliant minecraft rcon client with bukkit coloring support. It is well suited for remote administration and to be used as part of automated server maintenance scripts. Does not trigger "IO: Broken pipe" or "IO: Connection reset" spam bug on server side.

Does anyone have rcon working? I am using the Ark server remote/server launcher software and everything seems to be working except rcon. I have tried a couple of different rcon clients and always get the same result. I am able to connect to the server through the rcon port but then it just gives me the same message over and over again 'Command not found'

For me that looks like your rcon client has not configured the adminpassword and therefore do not have the rights to issue any commands. Check your rcon-client configuration if there is entered the server adminpassword.

I also cannot see the player list or see or use chat/broadcast. It will only repeat that nmessage for perhaps a minute. Then I get a message that the server is now ignoring rcon commands (I assume that the server thinks I am spamming it at that point), then it disconnects.

Hello, I am just learning this about the servers by serverme.tf and I wanted to ask you please if you could help me by passing me all the rcon commands that can be used on my server (and what is each one for if it is not too much trouble) I would appreciate it too much , thanks

The best way to input rcon commands is typing the command without the word "rcon" in front, and then using the suggestions provided by console to help you find what you're looking for. Once you have your command input, hit the "home" key on your keyboard to return to the start of the line, and then type rcon. The "find" command is also useful.

When executing a command through ECO RCON you do not need to supply the forward slash like you would in game. Below is an example of remote command execution to ban a using the mcrcon tool linked in the tool section below.

The password should not include the # character.

We recommend leaving the rcon.ip option set to its default value of 0.0.0.0. If you change the IP it must be set to a public IP. The IP should NOT look like 192.168.x.x, 172.16.x.x - 17.32.x.x, or 127.x.x.x.

Now that you have a password, you must log into rcon before using any of the below commands. To log in, join your server, open the console, and type the same command as above, /rconpassword password, but replace password with your password.

NOTE: Some hosts lock rcon access to whitelisted IP addresses. There should be a file somewhere in your server file system that lets you whitelist your own computer's IP address or disable the function. On AsuTech.io servers, it's in the jediacademy folder. e24fc04721
