TECHNICAL SUPPORT SERVICES

Technical Support volunteers provide second-line support to users and operators of equipment and systems when they have problems they cannot solve.  See more detailed information in our individual service-level offerings.  It is important to understand that all technical services volunteers collaborate on many matters, but not all technical services support volunteers support all domains. Primary points of contact for each domain are identified to the office, the president, and our usual clients.

IT Support Services

Our volunteers provide the best service we can within our capability.

Audio-Visual Support Services

Volunteers work to provide expert assistance during events and memorial services: Audio Visual support volunteers are required to maintain our sound and video systems and Sound Engineers are needed to play the ceremonial music for our meetings and official legion memorial services.  We are building a team to provide the best high standard of service to the branch that can reasonably be expected of volunteers with limited experience and resources.   Sound Engineer trainees will work with an experienced engineer until they feel comfortable assuming full responsibility.

Refer to our Audio Visual Guidance Page for detailed information

Entertainment Systems Support Services

The Entertainment Systems Support specialist is a second-line support resource for staff and users of these systems who encounter problems they cannot solve.

Trouble calls to Rogers/Shaw must be initiated by the office or by the president.

For satellite issues, our Shaw Direct account # is 200-1094-5074.

We may be able to provide advice on other systems such as the branch sound system used by musicians, but we assume no responsibility for their support.

Information Management

Primary responsibilities include drafting information management policy and procedures and collaborating with other technical services volunteers on matters such as, but not limited to, requirements analysis, procedural development, and user accounts management

The information management volunteer has a limited role in public document management and the production of membership and email contact lists.

·        Public Documents. Primarily concerned with policy and procedural guidance that should be available to all users.     Achieved by placing shortcuts on the Public Desktop of each computer and publishing them on the website.

Webmaster

A single webmaster maintains a basic website that provides basic information about our branch and a place to publish policy and procedural documents.  We do not have sufficient resources to maintain a dynamic site to highlight our events and activities.  The webmaster is also a member of the administrator group for the branch's Facebook page and assists in ensuring that up-to-date information appears on an electronic media host.

Audio Visual and Sound Engineering

Audio Visual support volunteers are required to maintain our sound and video systems and Sound Engineers are needed to play the ceremonial music for our meetings and memorial services.  We are building a team to provide the best high standard of service to the branch that can reasonably be expected of volunteers with limited experience and resources.   Sound Engineer trainees will work with an experienced engineer until they feel comfortable to assume full responsibility.
