The purpose of these lists is to encourage students in grades 6-12 to explore a variety of current books and are not designed to support any particular curriculum.
The Lone Star list is to encourage recreational reading for grades 6, 7 and 8.
Resources include annotated lists and alternative reads.
The Maverick list is a collection of graphic novels, similar to comic books.
The list’s purpose is to encourage students in grades 6-12 to explore a variety of current books.
The SPOT list encourages students to explore current, quality books by Texas authors and illustrators.
The Spirit of Texas (SPOT) Reading Program hopes to encourage a greater understanding of what it means to be a Texan and to develop an appreciation for the literary works of and about Texas and Texans.
The Tejas Star list is a collection of bilingual books for students ranging from 5 - 12 years old.
The Tejas Star Reading List (TSRL) provides a recommended reading list to explore multicultural books and to discover the cognitive and economic benefits of bilingualism and multilingualism.
