I am Razi Hosseini, I started my academic career by entering the field of computer engineering. After completing my bachelor's degree, I decided to continue my studies in geology, and for this purpose, I started studying geology and tectonics at Shahid Bahonar University of Kerman.
Considering the importance of earthquakes in human life as an influential and destructive natural phenomenon, I became interested in continuing my thesis and advanced research in earthquakes and seismotectonics. After completing my master's degree, I started working as a researcher at the Earthquake Research Center of the Shahid Bahonar University of Kerman.
Now, I am a PhD student in Geology and Geophysics Engineering at the Missouri University of Science and Technology. I am working in both fields of computer science and geology. I try to find new solutions to geological problems, especially tectonics, seismicity, and earthquakes, with the help of computer modeling and simulation. My research focuses on the following topics:
Earthquake Focal Mechanism Extraction and Analysis (First Arrival P-wave Method)
Seismic Data Processing & Interpretation
Simulation & Modeling in Geology

In 2020, Jupiter and Saturn appeared extremely close in the sky in a rare event called the Great Conjunction. This happens roughly every 20 years, but in 2020 they were closer than they had been in nearly 400 years.
