Throughout my professional career, I have engaged in a variety of extra-curricular and community service activities that have enhanced my skills as a university professor. As the former Chairman of the Computer Science department at PSUT from 2016 to 2017, I gained valuable experience in academic leadership and management, overseeing departmental initiatives and ensuring their success. Additionally, I have been a member of the Higher Education Accreditation Council for Computer Science and Information Technology programs since 2016, where I have contributed to the evaluation and improvement of academic programs across the country.
In recognition of my expertise in the field of research, I have also been invited to serve as a member of the evaluation committee for funded research projects by the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Furthermore, my appointment to the Editorial Board of the Journal of Intelligent Computing, Dline, has allowed me to contribute to the advancement of scholarships in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
In addition to my academic and research-related activities, I have been committed to contributing to the wider community by participating in initiatives aimed at promoting gender equality and supporting the mental health of students. As a member of a focus group on "The Challenges Women Face in Innovation in Jordan" project funded by the Civic Initiatives Support Program (USAID-CIS), I was able to contribute to the development of policies that promote gender equality in the field of innovation. I am also a member of the Jordan Engineers Association (JEA) and the French universities graduate alumni in Jordan, which have allowed me to network and collaborate with professionals in my field. I am member in ‘RAWABIT’ collaboration and information-sharing network among Jordanian and U.S. universities. RAWABIT aims to facilitate increased cooperation in all forms of higher and post-secondary education, to bridge the education-to-employment gap, and improve economic outcomes for all Jordanians. In terms of organizational and leadership roles, I have served as a member of the organizing committee for the International Conference on New Trends in Computing Sciences (ICTCS), contributing to the successful execution of the conference. Additionally, I was appointed as the President of the Academic Advising Committee at PSUT from 2019 to 2021, where I contributed to the development and implementation of academic advising policies and initiatives. Being a judge in the "Falling Walls Lab research competition Jordan " event was an exciting opportunity to witness and evaluate innovative ideas that have the potential to break down walls and create a positive impact on science and society ((https://falling-walls.com/ ). As a judge, my role is crucial in assessing the pitches presented by participants, who aim to showcase their breakthrough research projects which enables me to contribute to the advancement of science and society in Jordan and beyond.
Participating in the World Science Forum 2017 was a transformative experience that significantly enhanced my professional career through various service activities. As an attendee, I had the opportunity to engage in a multitude of extra-curricular and community service initiatives that aligned with my interests and expertise.
Most recently, I have been appointed as a member of the Student's Mental Health Committee at PSUT, where I will use my experience to contribute to the development of policies and initiatives aimed at supporting the mental health and wellbeing of students. Aside from my main objective of providing affordable education in the technology field, I have also been involved in various professional service activities aimed at promoting the advancement of the technological industry in Jordan and beyond. One of these initiatives involves developing a data literacy curriculum for schools, which is designed to promote collaboration and knowledge-sharing between scientists and the community. This curriculum consists of age-appropriate lessons, activities, and projects that highlight the significance of data in daily life and equip students with skills to analyze, interpret, and visualize data. In summary, my professional academic and service activities have been varied and impactful, they provided me with a wealth of experience that I can draw upon in my role as a university professor.
